About 3 days ago I lost 29K of zydrine during a trade to another one of my characters. CCP tell me that they cant find any evidence that I had the minerals in the first place. How is this so? If i have minerals in my ship, then log off EVE, then I log back on again, the minerals are still there....that's because the minerals are items in a database. So how can they say that they cant find them? Absolute rubbish! The simple fact is that they just can't be arsed helping me out because it would take more than 5 minutes. Instead I get the standard ' we cant find an error on our servers ' response. As a result of CCP's poor customer service I have decided to close down my 3 active accounts. I know losing my 3 accounts is **** all to them but at least I am doing something about it, I'm fed up of the same old crap from them. First of all they make the game ridiculously hard to make isk, then they steal my zydrine!!!!!
My petition has now been escalated to GM2....but let's face it they will just say the same thing to me....'shut up dude and go mine like a ***** in 0.0 for 2 weeks again! But hey dont go trading it again! not unless you have some way of logging remote server errors! '
The best bit about about the petition going to GM2 is that they will flag my account as a problem player.....WTH??
I so wish I could take legal action against them, afterall we are paying for a service that we dont get!
No doubts I will get banned for speaking out....that's also not allowed. Apparently petitions are secret and should be kept that way......I was actually told that in the HELP room by a moderater....nuts hey!

Gonna have to come down on CCPs side on this issue myself. I have petitioned CCP for a loss only 2 times in my Eve playing time. Once for an Assault Frigate and a Battleship, both times due to a server/isp disconnect. Both times it was a situation where my ship was in good shape before the PvE encounter and I was in a capsule when I logged back in. Both times my ships and destroyed modules were replaced...one of them took quite a long time, but it occured after the Cold War expansion, so I expected a long wait. I have found their customer support to be quite sufficient.
Having worked in customer service, I find that it is indeed true that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, perhaps you should use this strategy in your future communications with CCP.
They are people too remember.

cool it man...cool it.
yes you had the zydrine, just like I had my coercer. but they don't log everything that happens in the game; their servers and computers would get billions of megabytes in a week if that were the case. And the computers couldnt handle so much, especially when only one line out of all that crap would be worth anything. Let me demonstrate.
Let's say they were to log everything. That means that every day their computer would have a log that had a ton of lines saying:
<name> moved <item> from <place> to <place> <name> fired <item> at <player> and <event> occurred mining laser used on asteroid, calculated x% of ore taken blah blah blahblah
and out of those billions of lines they got per week, they would have maybe a hundred that were ever used because someone lost something.
so yes I was upset I lost my coercer to the large celestial object glitch, but unfortunately, they cant account for every detail in the game at every moment.
they will eventually fix glitches, until then, deal with what happens. you aren't alone. _____________________________________________ Kills: 0 Repeats: 0 Bounties Collected...you guessed it.

tHE SIMPLE FACT REMAINS THAT THEY CAN TELL THAT I HAD THE ORE WHEN I LOGGED ON, THEY CAN SEE THAT I DIDN'T SELL IT AND THEY CAN SEE THAT I DIDN'T TRADE IT OUT OF THE CORP.....SO WHERE DID IT GO?
IT TOOK ME 2 WEEKS TO MINE THAT ORE, SO NO I WONT CALM DOWN!
I'M SO P I S S E D ABOUT IT THAT I AM QUITTING THE GAME AND CLOSING ALL 3 ACCOUNTS. SHAME REALLY AS I LOVED PLAYING

glad you're quitting. someone as closed minded, arrogant and ignorant as you shouldn't be mingling with civilized people.
they can not see that you had it because they don't keep logs, for the reason I said above. so read before you post. _____________________________________________ Kills: 0 Repeats: 0 Bounties Collected...you guessed it.

A. Posting on a forum will not change the outcome of your petition, nor should it.
B. Nobody cares. Well, atleast, not that much. Sure, you might get a little sympathy, but nobody is going to quit or complain because of what happened to you.
C. You obviously take this too seriously. You lost an icon with a number by it. Sure, it took you time to get, but this isn't a job. It's a game. If you didn't have fun while getting that together, then yep, quitting is the best thing you can do. For your own good that is.
However, if you do enjoy the game, don't quit because of what you see as an error on their behalf. You're not punishing them... your three accounts are not that precious... you're only taking something away from you. Maybe it was a fault on their end that caused the problem, but they shouldn't rectify it just because you say so, nor should they really care about your threats.
Oh, and just mention "lawsuit". I promise you, everyone in CS loves that one, it's good for a laugh. I think any lawyer or judge you mention it to will get a kick out of how much ISK you want to sue them for =).

Actually I laughed out loud reading the post before yours...lol.
I know what you mean, just disheartening really.
As for whether or not i enjoyed playing during those 2 weeks....no i didn't, but like a lot of the time in eve i decided to grin and bear it for the isk. Hey ho....life goes on.
I've just noticed that Guild Wars has a higher rating on MMORPG.COM. I think i will give that a shot instead.

If the devs reimburse people for stuff without proof sooner or later they get flooded with fake petitions asking for stuff back. The time it would take to investigate each of these cases would slow everything down beyond what it is currently.

My point about the logs was that they do log what items we have....otherwise we would lose everything when we log off. So why cant they look back 3 days and see what i had?
Anyway, I have exhausted this thread now....I'm boring myself with my whinging.

As for the guy saying something didn't fit.....read the thread again.
1: It was 29K zydrine = roughly 100M isk 2: I do have 3 active accounts, the oldest being about 15 months old. 3: I said that i didn't enjoyed the 2 weeks it took to mine 29k of zydrine in EC-P8R.
Got it? I think you will find it all adds up now.

I've lost billions in crap due to bugs, after the 3rd petition being rejected, I just gave up.
Basically, expect to get nothing back, but if you do, good for you.
Just bite your lip, say unlucky, and keep on playing.
But looking at your attitude, it would be better if you quit. A lot of people play the game due to the playerbase, you will just drive people away. ------

That's not our problem.
I run Windows 2003 servers and I have the logging for most things at maximum. You know how big my log files get?
Lets just say I have a 200gb drive in there just for log files.
You need it... if I cannot prove something, I lose a contract... if CPP cannot prove it, they lose a customer which is what has happened here.
It's something that has to be done... You guys have to stop siding with CPP all the time.

I remember once loosing a 1600mm plate when transferring to my alt... Figguered oops... lost that.
2 weeks later it reappears.
On the other hand, when destroyers first arrived we grabbed a BPO. During a trade from one char to another it vanished *poof*... and never reappeared, and petitions about it vanished into the ether.
Crap happens. Sometimes it will correct itself, a lot of the time... squat all.

Ahhhhhh I see how it is now, it all makes sense.
When coming to pay my Bill, I am expected to trust CCP with my personal details and CC number..
Yet when I petition something, Im presumed to be a dishonest lying 10yo noob, untill CCP's lack of logging proves otherwise.
Yeah, that sounds all fair and dandy to me!

One of the things that greatly attracted me to EVE when I was first told about it by a friend was that "the CSRs are helpful and will actually replace items you lose to lag or game bugs". After spending over a year playing Star Wars: Galaxies and having to deal with SOE's arrogant, rude, and unhelpful customer service reps this was a major selling point for me.
In defense of the person who told me this, it *was* actually this way for the first few months I played. Then, long about the time of EXODUS, things changed - CSRs stopped being so helpful. Valid petitions started being declined left and right and CCP lost that quality that put them a cut above the competition in terms of customer service. (This was also around the time that CCP stopped putting up notes of apology on the login screen every time the server crashed and explaining what happened to cause it...anyone else see a trend?) -Wrayeth
