Well make it an option, so ppl with lesser cards don't get shut out.

Im also running SLI (2x watercooled 6800GTs @ 436/1174)... try SLI Anti-Aliasing 8x or 16x to improve quality even more since AFR/SFR doesnt benefit EvE.
Also, for nVidia users... I noticed forcing Trilinear mip maps in driver options improves texture quality significantly. (as well as keeping all setting to high-quality and running v-sync)

1.) Hi res graphics with LOD implimented (especially the alpha maps used on minmatar ships so the struts do not look like a blurred mess every time you look at them.)
2.) Reduction of ambaint lighting to models and the introduction of self shadowing from sun and celestrial light sources plus navigational lighing fromt he ship it self.
3.) Client side Ship Wreakage (with time delayed removal ie 10 mins)
4.) Updated older ship models to the new high quality versions on par with the new content. (ie fix some of those damn flipped normals)

nah real time deformation of models.... that would be crazy... Although the server would probably fall over and die...

well, thats why it was mentioned "client side". The server would simply send the signal, the execution would be locally.

Please kids, stop drooling all over ultra-high resolutions and special effects that you've only read about on hardware sites, I've got a bucketful already. Eve is quite beautiful as it is, you know. Instead, plz add a real low-graphics mode that lets us get something like 150 FPS on it, so everything runs extra smooth.

FFS for the last time most of the lag isnt client side... its SERVER SIDE. Stop asking for client optimizations when thats not the main problem atm.

Graphics problems can be avoided if they just made high res textures and effects optional. Even a simple toggle in the esc menu would do it, and I doubt it'd take too much programming... just name the hi res textures exactly the same as the low res ones, put them in a seperate folder and then put in an if statement to choose which folder to load textures from based on the toggle.
