Ok, I've done the mining, trading, looting loop - enough times to own a Megatron - so can someone please tell me where the content is going to come from and when , cos this repetitive loop is getting quite tedious now. --- |

You can always work very hard towards the "Get Joshua a Shiny New Raven" fund.

"Eve is what you make of it"...In EVE you can do whatever you want, you just have to have [real life] skills to take it to it's full potential. Ask me nicely and I won't pod you... |

THE game has not started yet, after some time when all those bugs have been fixed there will be new thrills and alot of action.
Right now as can be seen all over Eve there is a struggle for survival, and it will get worse. We will have PvP in most likely all regions, all systems so hang in there and join in for the kill

Game hasnt started yet ehh? Well my credit card report seems to say the billing has started...Now, does that sound fair?
Honestly, we're paying for a product and service right NOW, I would expect the majority of the players to agree with me that we also want to enjoy 'new thrills and alot of action' right NOW. I mean common, half the stuff that was featured FOR the release is not implemented, or extremely buggy or not even half completed. (i.e.ohhh, stock market, implants, agent system, and the black market to name a few...refer to some posts about features for a detailed look at more)
Maybe I'm MAD or CRAZY but...it doesnt seem fair? http://webpages.charter.net/atwtnick/sig.jpg |

"If you dont like it, dont play."
That says it all and everyday people are making the decision not to play.
Wonder why that is?
I fear many like me are here wondering WHY we are still here. Wondering, Waiting... for what? What will it take for me to finally hit the delete button and cancel this game. How strong is the addiction, how strong is the desire to WANT this game succeed?
Many are weakening, growing tired of waiting for things to be fixed, balanced, added etc.
Some have found a way around the boredom but for how much longer? Sooner or later what they are doing will in itself become boring. I guess thats with all games, it just seems you hit that wall fairly soon in EVE.
So exactly what does it take to push someone over that edge? To finally walk away or break free? For me it hasn't happened yet although many times I've felt like just canning it. Can't say I'm having a whole lot of fun but I keep logging on to see if maybe I want to leave the station and actually do something.
post is getting toooo long, but the question stands. What does it take?

Being made fun of and Marilyn Manson music?

lex i hope to shut off your computer, sit in your room and hope no one who was involved in any sort of school shooting reads that.

but that is a legitimate answer to the question. Would it have been better if I said Enya?
Actually then it would have implied someone going over the edge and killing themselves. Enya can have that effect on people.

Me, I quit the game late last week, deleted my character, cancelled my account and uninstalled the game.
I'm not paying every month and spending hours in a game to do the same things in a cycle. Once you have traded to death, mined yourself to death, killed hundreds of pirates and got that bigger ship, there is nothing else to do.
Don't tell me "the game is what you make it!" I can't make it any more than what I've just said as thats all there is to do - repeat things over and over in the quest to get a better ship, which is all relative as everyone else has a better ship by then too. Even if you add some role-playing, there is still nothing to do after you apply your imagination because the crux of it is that whatever you do involved reading a book while you sit there looking at your ship warping.
Anyone else who does anything different is merely doing that out of boredom - whether it be exploring space - WHY? There is nothing else out there - one system is the same as another of comparable security ratings. I was laughing when I read that some players have done 100 jumps in one night to explore - what for? The bottom line is that Omber mining is the quickest, safest and easiest to do - a few cruisers with 4/5 mining lasers and the odd indy, why do to mine Bistot and then do 20 jumps per refine - not worth it. And there is nothing else out there to look for - no magic items floating in space, no derelict ships for people to take control of - nothing worth fighting over in the game - if you were allowed to fight - which you aren't meant to (Ask Moo)
This game is about the most boring you will find on the shelves right now. You can play for 1 hour or 5 hours straight and still not have really (if you have honest) achieved much.
By the time the content arrives, there will be no-one left to see it.
I'm going to keep popping onto these pages out of curiosity that one day, something interesting might happen - but I don't expect it.
