are making BPCs for dreads and carriers very profitable if your in it to sell the BPCs?
Im working on doing the math now but was hoping for some insight from others as well before I decide one way or the other... I can obviously figure the breakeven point in sales and whatnot but not sure on sales volume of bpc packs |

Very profitable?
Relative to what? And by what metric?
In general, capital research and capital production allow you to put a large amount of ISK to work, but the profit margin is quite a bit lower than many of your subcap options when done on a scale that is feasible for those markets.
Got 100 billion isk and want to put it to work without having to try very hard? Capital research is okay for that.
Got 10 billion isk? You can do better. |

smaller ships as in bpcs for bs and bc and such?
Basically I just dont know what kinda sales I could expect... do they sell pretty fast on average... or is the market pretty saturated that sales are slow?
and Ya I was looking at getting into smaller ships as well... say buy 5 or 6 tornado bpos for isntance and start crankin em out but again I dont know that the demand is there, and I know no way to gauge it. |

Well, no, I was thinking more along the lines of, e.g., T1, T2, or T3 production. |

It can be profitable, if you have the time and the isk to invest as well as the additional characters needed to keep research slots going for moth blueprint ME/PE research as well as copies going.
Generally (and this is a rough estimate) you can make around 2.5M isk per 24 hours of research (and by research I mean Me/PE research done to a blueprint, or copies). So to recoup the cost of a 1.5B isk BPO, and not counting the cost of researching it (30-60 days for components, carrier class ships can be 6 months) or the fuel costs, PLEX costs, hauling/taxes, etc. it will take you roughly 500 days to break even. So just for a simple capital component it can take around 2 years to break even after all costs are considered and assuming some time not spent researching.
Some people will say you could make much more isk investing that 1.5B into other areas such as market trading and make better isk and chances are they most likely are right.
Normally players only go into the BPC market (for capital related ships) because they were in the manufacturing side of the business and quit, or make BPC's of their BPO's when not manufacturing with said blue prints.
That being said you will also be in compatition with players with 50+, 100+ characters all doing copy runs of the same blueprints and who could most likely undersell you.
So basically if you get into the capital business making BPCs of the blueprints when they are not being manufactured is a great way to keep up profits from these BPO's, but simply paying the billions of isk required to into the business and then simply making copies will yield you less isk from less work. |

Of course it's profitable. I however don't think it's worth it considering the amount of money you'll need to invest to make it awesome. It's a nice passive income, but the isk per hour is pretty terrible unless you had a WHOLE lot of BPOs to copy.
If you have that many BPOs to copy, you may as well manufacture them. |
