Only thing you can train skill wise is advanced weapons upgrades reduces turret and launcher power requirements by 5% per lvl.
Other than that is Reactor control unit or Aux power cores, but as you talking skills the first is the only option.

Advance Weapon Upgrade : Not 5% but only 2% per level

If you use shield tanking, shield upgrades reduces the amount of grid some of those upgrades will use. Not by much, though.

Edited by: HippoKing on 08/09/2005 18:39:48 yup - thats it for skills. if you still don't have enough, its MAPC time (or smaller guns, or TAKE OFF YOUR DAMN PLATE)
btw, i don't know that you are using a plate, and if you aren't, gd for you, and no offence
edit: damn word order

Or you could bet an MAPC for cheaper and get 10 extra grid, way more than any rcu on a frig.

advanced weapon upgrades it is then... doubt it will get enough though
remember that no t1 frig is really designed to fit a full set of the biggest guns and a tank

lo,
aye I know ..no big guns + tank ....
so I have 125mm proto rails instead of 150mm ones ...and light miss luncher ...
but I have now removed light miss launcher for rocket luncher ... and solved PG probs ...
kinda sucks ..but I can do ANY Lvl2 miss or 2/10 complex ... well didnt manage to do only 1 2/10 complex ..last stage ..2 many npc's that agro u :p
but will train wep.upgrades to lvl5 as soon as I finish Cov.OP ... and that one is going to take some time ..

I think the original post has a point. If you look at the Electronics and Engineering skill categories, not necessarily the specific skills, the trend indicates resourcefulness to 2 out of 3 ship systems: CPU and Capacitor. There is not skill to get +5% powergrid output per level. There are equipable ship items that improve all three aspects (CoProcessors, Cap Rechargers/Batteries/Boosters, and Reactor Controls/Diagnostics). But in regards to associated skills, there are only 2 of the 3 "necessary" systems skills.
There should be a Powergrid Management skill that does +5% powergrid capacity per level. And who wouldn't want that? That means a couple better launchers, vampires, smartbombs, or other grid-hungry devices.

It's called the "Engineering" Skill

You need Weapon Upgrades V to train Advanced Weapon Upgrades
