This morning i had trouble to keep it going (while on autorepeat) it would just shut off at random.
But now every time i kill a ship (frigate) it turns off and i can activate it again without the delay of about 9 seconds between shots.
I was able to activate it like 4 times in a second each time killing 1 frigate. Something is weird and my question is : does anybody else have this problem?

By "this morning" you mean after D/T?
Yes, I have it and everyone in my corp that's used SMs have it, too.
If the SM kills something, it deactivates. If a different SM lays the final blow, the other SMs keep cycling, I think. --

its not just smartbombs, ive noticed the same with hardeners and reps while shooting npc's
just keep an eye on them and reactivate them when needed and it will propably be fixed the year 4048

hmm no reps and hardeners kept going for me , i was keeping a close eye on them

I hadn't noticed this thread before I posted in the known issues forum but yes, I get this and since I never activate a smartbomb unless heavily outnumbered It's annoying.

It would be - except i had 5 merc wingmen targetted... and my uber smartie flashing away

Update - just doing it again - and it ppears i'm doing 5 lots of damage to 1 of the 5 targets...
so like, insta popping 1 frig at a time...
WOOT - but very broken (can u say 2500 damage a go...time to fit a bombathron)

Oh yeah, I just noticed the same thing today... this can be a real nasty farking problem when hunting rats in 0.0 and those screaming tacklers are orbiting and... your SBs are not doing their job while the BS are pounding your locked down ship!

I had the same problem as you guys. I sent a bug report, with a movie that i Fraps'd. Will put the link here, but you will see just how bad this bug is. For those who havent seen the bug, you cant miss it here.
Just make sure you watch where i am clicking on the smartbomb, and the explosions behind it, as these best show the problem. Sorry the quality isnt crash hot, i buggered up the encoding.

as someone who relys on smartbombs to actually play the game...
can CCP please tell us whats happening and an ETA for a hotfix?
(this only started happening yesterday)

Same here, for me only started this morning. They'd stop activitating after once burst and eventually gave up altogether and I couldn't get it on at all... which was nice...

The same happened to me last night as well and nearly allowed an interceptor to make a mess of my Omen.
There is also the issue of (projectile at least) guns ceasing to autoreload randomly and sitting there empty in combat whilst there is still plenty of ammo in the hold. |

Now I'm waiting for how long it'll take for CCP to label smartbombs an exploit in PvP until the issue is fixed --

I had this problem last night too .... my smartbomb would deactivate whenever it killed a frig. I would then be able to reactivate it instantly to kill another frig ... and then again and again ...

is it always instakill or does it only do that if there's multiple targets in range?

it doesn't instakill its normal damage but once you killed 1 it immediately deactivates for you to activate again. If you kill another frig you can activate again and so on
