Hi, I'm blizzing through level 2 caldari navy missions atm. I already have -1.6 with minmatar and -0.8 with gallente. I dont want to ruin my relationship with them and later have troubles travelling.
I found some guides on mission running and factions and they mention to cancel missions which involve killing of another empire faction. How does this work in the field? Can I identify a mission involves killing of faction ships by the mission description? I noticed the mission goal has a small faction symbol sometimes. But since every 2nd mission currently has a gallente or minmatar symbol and often does not involve actually killing a ship of the faction it seems not to be the signal to go for. And if I need to cancel those missions and wait 4 hours it will slow down my progress very much. Do I have to look up every mission in the web ?
thanks Snusk |

I would direct you to http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports to start with. Yes when starting out look up every mission BEFORE accepting it. :)
If you find your in a 4 hour hold for the next mission then just move to another agent, usually you can find an agent within a few jumps of where you are at. Idealy finding another agent in your system or station is the best plan, but diversity will be a great asset to you in the long run.
Additionally, if you at -1.6 Minmatar already then I would suggest finding a Minmatar agent and running a few missions for Him/Her while you wait for the timer to run down.
;) Phone post sorry for any bad grammer and typos. Reason and logic never wins over Stubborn and Convinced (But I still try..) |

You can see in the mission description what faction they belong to. The ones which don't have this shown are mercenary groups I think.
So just decline when you see anything with non pirate factions if you don't want to ruin your standings with them.
Also, lvl 1 missions are always available for every race. Combined with the Diplomacy skill it should go a long way to restoring your standings. |

I mission in Amarr space. I just bounce between amarr agent and matari agent, they are 2 jumps from each other. So I run missions for amarr for a couple of days, then go run mission for matari for a couple of days. Life is short and dinner time is chancy Eat dessert first! |

There's an icon in mission briefing indicating rat type. A circle means drones/mercs/eom, no standing hit for these. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

You could do the Minmatar tag agents too, at least the relatively cheap ones.
wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Minmatar_COSMOS_Guide
For example...
Hakno Lekan Suite Keeping Crime In Check Corporation: Republic Fleet System: Emolgranlan 1) Trade 3 Angel Copper Tag Reward 150mm Light AutoCannon I and 100 Phased Plasma S
Also you get faction standing for doing the tutorial agents for a particular faction.
Minmatar Republic Republic Military School - Ammold, Hadaugago, Krilmokenur, Larkugei, Loguttur Pator Tech School - Ryddinjorn, Embod, Abrat, Erego, Fildar Republic University - Hulm, Malukker, Orgron, Todeko, Usteli

To boost your - Faction Standings do the Sisters of EVE Epic Arc Level 1. You get to choose which faction standing gets a boost and can get you out of the mire. Can only be done once every 3 months though.
Hope that helps. My Feature\Idea:-á Fast Character Switching "XP Stylee"

If you see the empire or faction insignia in the mission briefing you'll be running a mission against it and most times it'll mean standings loss.
The best thing you can do is decline those missions. |

You will see the icon of the faction you will be fighting in the mission description, if you decline all the missions against highsec factions and all story line missions you will never go below -2 standing to any highsec faction and you will be free to access all level 1 agents and fix your standing and fly freely through their space without being chased by faction police. |

As of right now you can run missions against an opposing faction and not take a faction standings decrease UNLESS you are running a storyline mission. ( I can confirm this since I run missions for the Angel, Blood Raiders, and Serpentas and I have not taken any loss to the other factions for running kill missions against Cal, Amarr, Min, Gal factions.)
Find you a corporation you want to run missions for each faction and grind them up to LV 4 it should not take you but a couple days. Be sure to have your social skills trained (Social 5, Connections 4) so you get a higher derived standings and gain from running the missions.
This will allow you to run missions for both factions while being able to bounce around IF you want to do storylines to increase your faction standings. AGAIN YOU WILL ONLY LOSE FACTION STANDINGS BY COMPLETEING STORYLINE MISSIONS. "Soldiers don't die, they just go to hell to regroup"

I've lost some small amount of faction standings when completing some of those missions, may be not with all of them, therefore I prefer to decline such missions, for someone new in the game the best thing is to decline, perhaps when he/she has more experience missioning and the knowledge on the way missions system works he/she can decide wether or not run those missions.
Train some social skills, Diplomacy will help with negative standings a lot. |

I'm pretty sure this isn't true, doesn't Enemies Abound effect your faction standing? just one example and it's been a while since i actively did level 4 missions but i'm sure there are ships and structures in other missions that give negative faction standing. |

Of course it isn't true. My alt is not welcome in Amarr space because of multiple times of Smashing The Supplier for example. What is true thou is gain of faction standings which is done by finishing storylines and COSMOS missions, regular missions can give you only gain towards agent's corp not his faction.
