Ok my avitar had almost got all of his advanced learning skills to 4 [2 weeks to go i think]
So i was wondering waht races ships should i concentrate on gilent or mimitar below ill list waht i want to do.
I like the idea of doing missions and PvP of some type
I will of course train the same races guns for the ship bonuses.

Hmm. I would say Gallente ships, but thats only because thats what I fly. I fly exclusively Gallente ships, and have never had a problem. I would suggest joining a player corp and asking some of the older more experienced players about what they do. --- CS nub seeking solace in EVE Online. |

Well both races are actually very good.
If you want insane firepower at expense of accuracy (hitting often) then I'd go with Minmatar seeing as if you max out all of your skills, you can get wrecking shots up to around 2500.00 Damage, which means you can 1 Volley Shot almost anything under another battleship.
Gallente, however are not as skill intensive as the Minmatar, and can still achieve great outputs in damage, tanking, etc...
If you are looking for a more or less quick way to get up into good NPC Missions and PvP, I'd think Gallente would be the way to go.
Though the Minmatar Tempest, Vagabond, and Munin are incredible ships in their own rights.
That's my thoughts on it... Hope it helps .

i never understood this argument, why would gallente be less skill intensive? a AC-ship with insane falloff can hit further and so better than a blastership anyway. still you need good navigation skills and good fitting sklls and also good drone skills. never seen the point of minmatar being harder to fly.

Gallente BS are the most skill intensive ships of the game -_- But even then, i'd choose them over minmatar ones, because, well, who wants to be flying a garbage can? --------------- VIP member of the [23] |

IMO Min ships have too little grid (or their guns use too much) which is why i like gallente. Both Tempest and Megathron have exact same amount of grid while a 1400mm uses almost as much grid as a tach while a 425mm rail uses 2500 grid. I can fit 6 425s, 2 assault launchers, 100mn AB II, 1 T2 LAR and 1 T2 MAR along with usual cap stuff and still have a free 3000 grid give or take with out any power modules, how many power mods would u need to fit the same stuff cept for 1400mms instead of 425s.
I was actually going to train for Min instead of Gal b4 the missile nerf but then i looked at grid and fitting and changed my mind to Gallente right away lol. |

Minmatar are more skill intensive if you want to be deal as much damage as gallente. Because quite a few minmatar ships have a ROF and damage bonus, that means that it isn't until you trained skills to lvl5 that you get comparable damage to gallente ships.
In other words:
hybrid guns base damage > projectile guns base damage hybrid with lvl4 skills > projectile with lvl4 skills hybrid with lvl5 skills < projectile with lvl5 skills
Disclaimer: this is not on all ships but mainly for the megathron vs. tempest comparison.

well this is definately true, i fly both min and amarr ships and although i like the insane burst dmg on min ships they are a real pain to fit... and you almost always need either power mods or cpu mods or both, and that's with max fitting skills...
