Hello fellow MD readers,
Some of you who many know me will know I currently run a small private bank. Over the last few months I've scaled down my operations. I've reduced the deposits I keep on hand and the total amount of isk I manage through some self imposed soft caps.
In the next few months my currently active public loans will be getting re-paid by the borrowers. With that my public liabilities will be heavily reduced from the 1.1trillion I was holding and managing a few months ago, down to zero public active bonds. (Assuming no new large loans come in)
With that said, I will have time to reflect on by current operation and look for places to improve. I will also be looking for potential new services I can offer that would go well with my current operation. So I would like your input on what you would like to see improved from my current operation.
For any new service ideas they would have to follow some guidelines:
- The service must not take more than 1-2 hours a week to manage
- The serviced must not bring me over my soft cap of 1 trillion isk
- The service should bring me at the very least a little income
- The service must not involve me taking off my clothes
To all past, present and potential future clients:
- Were you satisfied with my service?
- Was my service what you expected?
- What would you like to see improved?
- Any additional comments, complaints, observations are appreciated and encouraged!
- If you hate me and think I should stop posting, don't be shy, tell me why.
Regards, Grendell GÖÑ

Being new to Eve, these ideas may be silly, impossible, or not worth it from an isk-per-hour perspective:
-GÇ£Checking Accounts w/Purchase OrdersGÇ¥ Basically keep deposits from players (with minimums) that need a way to make purchases when not in game. This may be too labor-intensive to be necessary (I donGÇÖt know how often you are available to jump in-game), but even if this was something you only offered certain clients it may prove useful. Basically your corporation holds Player AGÇÖs money in a checking account that requires monthly fees to keep active (your cut). When Player A needs to purchase something (because they saw something on the forums, they receive an offer via eve-mail, they see something on eve-central, etc.) they send an eve-mail to you release the funds to player B. You accept the goods and then contract them back to Player A.
-Industrial Overseer. Maybe need cooperation with a Freight and/or Mining company (if you donGÇÖt have your hands in one already). Set up a corporation with audit-logged containers (newb GÇô not sure how they work I guess) in a station somewhere that you keep supplied with ores and locked Blueprints. You allow industrialists to join your corp for an agreed upon cost-per-week, allow them access to the ores to be paid by use. The way I see it maybe working is you are making ISK from the weekly GÇ£rentGÇ¥, and maybe a modest markup on the ores (which considering your contacts you may be able to get for cheap?). The industrialists win by having a ready supply of ore and a large selection of blueprints available. Of course you may have them put up collateral to join (most players would balk at this but you have a good rep), and youGÇÖd have to do the audits to ensure you are getting your weekly rent + ore use fees. Maybe I am na+»ve to think there are enough trustworthy people for this to be feasible, or am too new to see why this wouldnGÇÖt be worth it for the industrialist, etc. The freight company would come into play moving the industrialists goods, keeping the ore stocked (mining company may be needed?). Basically an all-one from harvest to showroom floor, with you taking a cut all along the way.
Like I said, feel free to browbeat me over my failworthy ideas. I can take it. |

I would like this as well before deciding to make any serious commitments in form of money or intellectual property. |

Make something better than SomerBlink. Hire 5-6 people to manage it for you and sit back and watch the ISK roll in. I am sure by now you have RL friends that you can find and dismember if they steal your ISK.
Edit: If you don't already have your pocket snake in it already. These may as well be farts in the wind but I have had a few beers since the start of this thread. |

Lost interest at "The service must not involve me taking off my clothes" '... you cannot reason with the mining bots, you cannot negotiate with them, you can only bring them judgement in the form of Navy Antimatter, turn their Mackinaws to salvage and dust, smartbomb their pods, and burn their Mining Link implants with sweet incense...'- The Gospel according to St James 315 |

An epic EVE is REAL third party service.
Isk for metagame services, with hourly wages scaling according to ingame income levels.
Adjusted for real life salary scaling according to real life skillsets.
Sort of like a timebanking scheme, but for EVE.

My feedback is that you should keep some of your current investing activity going.
I am more than glad to keep the >30B or so currently in your fund or bank (or whatever you call it) running as long as possible.
I also have suggestions but those are more wishful thinking than practical (they are about financial things, apparently too specific to gain interest on MD). Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

@Halvan Zan]
This sounds fun, just doesn't interest me personally.
@flakeys You seem to always be trying to pawn off your wife kind sir
@Bad Bobby Yeah if there's nothing that sparks my interest i might just use the time to do nothing.

Edit 2: Set up a betting service based on the top 100 songs on billboard.com. % based on place in the list. If you don't hit your mark you lose everything. If the song you bet on hits the place in the list you get 5x your bet. Go Go. Call Me Maybe rank 1.
Problem with this is, it would take more time than I would like to commit.

Yeah I intend on keeping my investing going, just on a smaller less demanding scale.

Issue with this is the restrictions that come with CCP policies, as well as my lack of knowledge in most programming languages that will allow me to verify all the work.

I was not suggesting someone walk your dog for isk, or anything like that..
I was merely stating that a sort of 3rd party service for exchanging metagame services and skills would be very useful..
Someone making an EVE banner, or helping create a theme for your website, etc..
These would all be within the EULA, and not break any CCP rules..
There is already things like webhosting for isk and things like that.
I got a rough estimate of ISK/HOUR using mining as the base reference, this is around 5-10m per hour.
So any work done as metagame should fall in step with similar numbers adjusted for complexity and skillsets.
The point is there needs to be a middle man of sorts to make sure that both parties are contend with the bargain.
There could be a range of methods tested and tried to get this up and runing, but basically its similar to what is already done in other 3rd party services.
