The past week has witnessed a breathtaking and intense escalation of Caldari aggression against Federal Defense Union and Union-aligned forces and their bases of operation.
According to classified intelligence from internal communications of various Caldari State Protectorate alliances, we have determined this was part of an organized plot to destroy the main military staging points of the FDU, in an effort to catastrophically damage our defensive capabilities.
This has been done in collaboration with the arrival of a certain nullsec alliance to the warzone, the Gorgon Empire.
Unlike Ev0ke, which was recently forced out of the Caldari militia through guerrilla and attrition tactics, the Gorgon Empire appears to be in direct collaboration with various Caldari militia high commands, and has set up their base of operations directly on the frontlines, in the Enaluri system. They have moved numerous supercapital assets into the system to support this deployment.
This move is a clearly aggressive act and in conjunction with Caldari assaults on our primary defensive station systems, and intelligence corroborating their apparent intentions, we have been forced to counterattack before this threat grows too large.
The Battle for Enaluri has begun.
Previous resolutions announced by the GMVA regarding participation in system conquest are no longer viewed to be binding. We will not be hamstrung while defending ourselves in the face of a clearly aggressive power with no intent to negotiate.

Our promise was kept. Our enemies blatantly exploited that promise to conquer our systems. We act like sane individuals and defend ourselves.

Well, that lasted long. Also to those who actually are out and about the battle actually begun about two days ago. It's only fitting to read this grand announcement days after the initial risks have been taken and the groundwork has been laid by both minmatar and non-GMVA federal forces.

In all fairness... their former announcement was foolish. I do not think anybody expected it to last.
The war is not over simply because they say it is, nor are combatants expected to lay down their arms simply because GMVA wants to 'play peace' for a while. Shosho Katrina Oniseki ~ (RDC) Diplomat ~ [I-RED] Sub-Director of Public Relations |

Ship out to where? Abandon Federation-sovereign systems that have been colonized for dozens of years? Defending our territory and people from rampant Caldari aggression is too much to ask, it seems. |

As someone who is part of a very large and successful Nullsec alliance, I can safely say that nullsec alliances don't work with or against any of the big four, at least directly. Each alliance has it's own agenda. Today they might be helping out the Caldari Militias and tomorrow they might be systematically exterminating them.

Since your announcement, the Gallente took several more systems in Black Rise. The Caldari took none in Placid.
And since when is Enaluri a Gallente system anyway? Last I checked, it too is in Black Rise.
The problem with you, Soter, isn't just that you are a lying hypocrite. It's that you aren't even good at being a lying hypocrite. |

So from what I just read you broke your own promise because the Caldari (Who probably had no idea about your deceleration of non-aggression because lets face not many in the Caldari leadership read this summit) were about to attack the systems you said you would continue to defend anyway?
So.......what was the point of the original declaration? -á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á-á "Let Vigilance Be Your Sword" |

It was a whimpering attempt at raising his political clout. Simple point scoring, as I said. Unfortunately, GMVA appear to have scored no points. Oops. |

Both Enaluri and Nennamaila are Caldari systems of Black Rise region. Unfortunately, Nennamalia at the moment is still under heavy gallentean occupation. But we are fighting gallentean oppression every day. Feel free to join. |

As opposed to your approach? And that would be what exactly? The only thing I've seen from you is barbs thrown as often at Caldari moderates as your professed Gallente enemies.
Not all of us strive to be as irrelevant as your pitiful organization. Maybe if you people focused as much on defending systems in the warzone as you apparently do on getting easy kills at the Jita undock the State Protectorate wouldn't have lost all those systems in Black Rise.
Honestly, though, considering the outcome the few times I've seen Liandri out in "force" its no wonder so many of you stick to highsec.
By the way, I find it a continuing source of amusement how little that bounty you engaged has depleted. Top me off any time, though. I'm afraid Moira's rookie pilots won't think I'm fierce anymore if it drops below 400 million. |

Ill adress this to both sides, Caldari and Gallante alike... the efforts for atleast trying to confine the war that been raised in other threads from both sides is a great leap, but the complicating matter for both waring faction behind these initiatives is the caotic mix of factions on both side, and no matter how you will try, there will be Gallante mercenaries that will fight just for the sake of fighting and the same will go for the Caldaris, so trying to establish we the caldari or we the gallante will try to... is sort of very hard when parts on both sides wont abide by it... If you want to set up some form of limited demarcation line or limited truce for certain areas, arrange it and set it up between factions on both sides, declare systems, terms etc and let it grow from there |

Agreed! The entire reason those alliances exist is because of their inability to get in line with any of the mainstream governments in the first place.

The trick is to establish unilateral standards of behaviour that don't depend on the cat-herding that is getting a quorum of the other side to sign on - or even getting a quorum of your own side to sign on.

My observation about nullsec alliances, coming from years of trespassing in their systems, is that they kill anything that moves and that's not one of their own.
They probably got ousted by a more powerful alliance and are taking up shop in a target rich environment.
While we should want to think there was a more noble cause behind this, it's very likely that from their perspective, this is little more than target practice.
