Moderators are Volunteers, and we have absolutely no information that we would be able to contribute meaningfully.
Eve is unplayable for me and other Volunteers at the moment as well.
Trust me, we feel your pain. --

Yes, but would you rather have them replying on the forums, chatting to all the volunteers or find a fix?
Also keep in mind that not every member of CCP has the ability to fix this, I'm sure the people responsible for the content such as background stories have something very nice to write about the lag, but that doesn't mean they can solve it.

I know some people of the IC are busy writing new articles and one should appear again soon, it's not about lag though.
In the meantime, feel free to write your own fan fiction and post it in the EVE Library section

Originally by: RobW1 Do you have a way of escalating things to the world of CCP / Dev / GM though?
I petition when I am stuck.
I do as you "normal" players do, look at the forums to see if others are affected, because I am just as "normal" a player as you all are. I also make attempts at keeping all discussion into a single thread, so as not to clutter and push other proper topics off the front page.
Do we have means to communicate? Sure we do. But "escalate"? No.
Logic tells me this, so think on it:
If 100 people get stuck at once, and half of them petition, there would have to be a chain of command in place, phone calls initiated, traceroutes completed, and diagnostics started.
I doubt very seriously anyone is ignoring anyone on purpose. I would like to think that they are all diligently working on the problem. And history shows, that within a few days, they share the issue with the community once they have the problem nailed down and solved at its root. --

No need, I'm already aware of it. _____________________________ "There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?" |

Some of the staff were called to work on the issue and we are confident that a fix is in the works. The nodes that are having problems will be restarted shortly and most likely, a hot fix applied. The GM team will make in-game announcements before this occurs.

After said announcement (at 20:45), my situation instantly got better, though node shutdown is still 10 minutes away.
Maybe you should scare away the lag like that more often..
Yes my friend, placebos work
But on more serious terms, we have the server in ICU and we will take actions if or when they become necessary.

Actually, the hotfix has been applied(a temporary change made to the loadbalancing), and the problematic nodes killed. However, it will take a full server reboot for the loadbalance changes to take effect. A more permanent fix(change to the loadbalancing functionality) will probably get applied sometime next week. ------ Valar Quality assurance department CCP games How to write a good bugreport |

Three blogs have been posted on the lag and load balancing. Take a look at this thread for a recap on all three blogs.
