Renyn - Hackers attempting to disrupt Federal Intelligence Office activities in retribution for the detention of the Hanvyner couple are being hunted down systematically by Black Eagle forces, according to hundreds of GalNet forum posts. What appears to be a cyberwar raging between a semi-organized group of disgruntled fans and the FIO has been continuing ever since the capture of Jolee and Ting Hanvyner earlier this month. Though there are no physical accounts to corroborate, GalNet users are reporting the sudden eradication of entire online identities of individuals they have known to be working against the FIO. Their real identities and actual fate is unknown.
An automated GalNet statement from the FIO has declared that "attempting to disrupt the operations of the Federal Intelligence Office will be considered an attack against federal security. Cease your activities at once or face justice."
The trial of Jolee and Ting Hanvyner continues. |

While imagining yourself a "rebel against the system" and an opponent of "The Man" striking against injustice, is all fine and good, actually going out and disrupting the operations of Federation-level security organisations like the FIO, and especially is 'support' of a pair of proven traitors, is not cool at all.
Those arrested for doing so get exactly what they deserve and I would echo the FIO's request for these naive fools to STOP, preferably before they get charges against them and arrests that will likely ruin their futures as citizens. You don't want to go into a worker's life anywhere in this Union with those kinds of charges on your record, punished criminals has a stigma to deal with when seeking employ.

I see what you did there. That's an interesting position to take, considering a verdict has not been reached... Bio and writing |

Furthermore, if the Black Eagles are indeed violating Gallente law, would it not then be patriotic to bring it to light so that democratic processes may address such behavior?
Democratic traditions aren't of much value if secrecy prevents their practice, I would assume...? |

How ingenious.
Online anonymity through the right to privacy is guaranteed by the Federation's Constitution. Yet will the law still save you, if you are also quite literally hiding behind it? |

If I recall correctly these were arrested after massive evidence had been uncovered. They are deserving of due process obviously, but at times there are cases where the outcome is pretty much inevitable given the available evidence.
You are partially right though, I could have used a milder tone and not out-right stated that it was proven. The odds may be very good that they will be, but no, a verdict has not been reached yet.
And none of that change the fact that trying to hack into the FIO's data-banks to "expose their crimes for all too see" or whatever is a crime in itself. I don't see how letting anyone play vigilante and looking to take justice in their own hands is good for society. These people have legal means of protest if they feel the FIO is overstepping their bounds or breaking the laws.

Once again, an Angel operative mouths off to those who are infinitely his betters, ignoring facts and the situation before him for his own good.
In other news Sanshas are still being treated in a civil manner, Blooders disapprove of what the Empire does, State-loyalists complain about the Union, and all other predictable events still take place.
All is well.

Are people really defending a group of fans hacking into government security databases with the express purpose of disrupting operations?
You realizes you can't magically disrupt only FIO activities regarding one case right? You'd have to shut down FIO activities across an entire region of interest. although my eyes were open they might have just as well've been closed

I'm sure such an unhelpful mindset were it in control earlier might have resulted in many of our newest additions having to sleep on the floors. Thankfully the Foundations is more optimistic then you. |

On actions from recent history alone, it seems more likely those 'harvested' by Nation would unwillingly find themselves part of some biomassed genetic soup than sleeping in either dormitories or on floors.
If you feel otherwise do consider returning Mr Inhonores' other child, as intact and functional as he was when abducted by Nation in YC112. I believe he would be five years of age by now had he survived Kuvakei's great vision.
My apologies, Seriphyn, for raising the ghosts of Nation's actions past. Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated. |
