For some reason ..... The bank gave me ... a student with next to ZERO income ... a Platinum card .... BUT!!! BUT!!!
With a twist !!! No buying stuff off age limited sites ..... (quit hating , I like my posters)
WTF??
First , why would you give me THAT MUCH credit ???
Second , so ... the banks have a policy against "immoral" goods while they are perfectly fine with giving a kid ( lets be honest , being 18 means nothing ) 10k to play around with when you KNOW chances are if he did spend that much , he won't be able to pay back .... Where is the morality now??

They want you to spend money that you clearly do not have. Simple reason enough.
Call your bank and tell them they are out of their minds. I kill kittens, and puppies and bunnies. I maim toddlers and teens and then more. |

If you are having such a moral dilemma about it, give me the card.

Oh yeah, baby needs new shoes. Damn kid is growing like a weed again. Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

The Card must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. Seriously destroy that thing unless you are doing a carefully managed credit history rep-grind. Are you an Industrialist who uses large amounts of Construction Components? Looking for ways to reduce costs? Then I can help you! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=174135 |

Honestly destroy the card unless as others have said you want to sensibly build a credit rating.
Ruining your credit rating early on is a big negative. I have a feeling this is a Chinese bank trying to extend their credit portfolio by offering max credit to as many people as possible.

Oh boy, how I understand your plight.
My issue with them is this, they managed ot give me (a poor guy with min wage) a way over the top Credit Card I didn-¦t ask for either. I said hey WTH, I will only use it for emergencies, but unfortunately I made the awful mistake of giving an extra to my wife.
Needless to say now I have debt I didnt want and CC almost maxed out
Anyway, to add insult to injury, bank calls me every once in a while with a SUPER INSTA CASH CREDIT OFFER (which curiously is the same as the debt ceiling in my CC) so I can "fulfill my dreams".
Needless to say, I wonder if people would fall for that ... Be indebted for an amount then grab the bank offer to loan for money to pay that first debt and then, you will OBVIOUSLY fill your card again to the max (they already know my spending habits) and you will end up owning double to the bank at the end of the day.
I once managed to talk to the bank representative and told him that, he laughed a bit and said "But you can use it for something else, like a business or a new car, possibilities are endless" And I was like "Woa, you guys are trained well, people fall for that crap?" "Sir, I am not allowed to talk about that, but I can tell you this big stack of 100$ bills will be yours anytime you want!"
ugh ...
No really, Banks, they are evil.
MY only recommendation is this: BURN THAT CARD, tell the bank you dont want it (they will probably still charge you something for the plastic, or a hidden fee , be careful there) and then close all debts you might have with said Bank and forget it.
Some people I know have already mortgaged their houses TWICE, just to pay stupid debt for crap they really don-¦t need and then they come to me crying that they don-¦t make enough money. They just work like mules to pay for the new ipad his daughter got as a present, the new car they got their wife and the fancy schools their kids have to be in to be "socially acceptable" pfft.
Worst part is a friend I know that plays a dangerous game of paying one CC with ANOTHER CC, then asking for these micro loans to pay less interest rates over and over and over. Some months I find him literally staring at the wall , mentally collapsed.
Banks ... not worth it for the common man. Inner Sayings of BrujoLoco: http://eve-files.com/sig/brujoloco |

credit cards are brilliant, because they're loans for anything you could buy
mostly crap. still brilliant though
a direct equivalent to the Stanford marshmallow experiment.. which tested to see how long children would resist eating a few marshmallows in return for an unseen, larger number of marshmallows later on.
(the larger number of marshmallows never came. the test was to see how long each one would wait, before succumbing to the temptation of the marshmallows in front of them. meaning: THEY ALL FAILED)
enjoy your two or three marshmallows. but as you use it more, you're making a bigger mistake EDM? you mean EFM | what did you just call me? |

Quote:There was no indication as to what degree the monk's passions were inflamed; he periodically excited himself briskly, but nothing rose. Returning now to me, he spent a moment eyeing those two fatty globes then still intact but about to undergo torture in their turn; he handled them, he could not prevent himself from prying them apart, tickling them, kissing them another thousand times. "Well," said he, "be courageous..." and a hail of blows descended upon these masses, lacerating them to the thighs. Extremely animated by the starts, the leaps, the grinding of teeth, the contortions the pain drew from me, examining them, battening upon them rapturously, he comes and expresses, upon my mouth which he kisses with fervor, the sensations agitating him.... "This girl entertains me," he cries, "I have never flogged another with as much pleasure,"

You'll pay more than you owe - Interest is a stone-cold *****. Lose the card, or use it very sparingly, and pay off the balance entirely each month. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Because that's what I'm going to end up paying for in the end, after all the interest (and assuming no late payment fees). |
