I tried my first lvl 4 missions yesterday and I have to say I had to warp out 3 times because I started to get heavy dmg, I have to admit though that I made some mistakes in aggroing couple of groups at once, but even if i didn't do that is warping in/out of missions is commonly used tactic in lvl 4 missions ? I used to do that in Raven for lvl 3 missions but I memorized all missions now I handle them fairly well in one run.
Warping in/out in lvl 4 missions is sign of fail ship/ fit/ low SP or everyone doing it ?
PS. I'm using SNI- Torp fit - 96k EHP - 1.2k dps @ 17 KM (Rage)/ 800 dps @ 30 KM (Jav) |

IIf you're warping out of a mission in a SNI something is wrong....
Post your fit.. EHP only is a big deal in PVP |

the fit you posted is ok except for the rigs (which should be rigor rigs). it should also be able to handle all lvl4 missions easily if you fly it right.

The fit you fly should be fine, you just need to make sure to REALLY not pop mission triggers early, cause they may lead to a warpout (depending on what ship you fly). Otherwise, it just takes a lot of practice and before you know it you'll be destroying L4's with no problems. |

This part is wrong for PvE. Cruise missiles have issues and need rigs to correct them Rigors/Flares are the only thing you should put here. Three rigors or two rigors and a flare.
A second painter would also help... optional, but it would help with some of the targets.

OP is four months old. I'm guessing low SP might be an issue. |

Of course it is. New players are led to believe that level 4 missions are the end all of EVE PvE and so rush into them.

if you concentrate exclusively on missions, 4 months can be enough to get lvl4s done. of course you need to cut some corners like t2 drones and such but you should still be able to get all relevant skills to IV and do ok. @OP: if you cannot fit T2 launchers yet, you can use faction launchers. they are a little expensive but will vastly improve your dps and god knows the sni needs it.
edit: also, as soon as you get comfortable with missioning, replace that damage control with a fourth BCU for another ~11% damage.

With low SP, you'll make more more ISK/hr pounding through level 3 missions that you will in Level IVs. As a rough rule of thumb, if your applied DPS (the damage you output) plus your tanked DPS (the damage you repair per second, after accounting for resists) is less than 1000, you're not ready for level 4 missions. |

Depending on your skills, it's not uncommon to need to warp out in Lvl IV's. You probably had to do the same starting out in Lvl III's too, just seems so long ago. With tanking/cap skills comes staying power. Add in getting a feel for proper target selection, and you'll be warping out less and less. Higher end gunnery/missile skills help to in simply blapping down enemies before they can land much damage on you. Levels 1-3 are all pretty strait forward and easily blitzed in minutes. The leap from 3-4 is bigger than before, and is immediately noticeable after grinding level 3's for awhile. Even easier missions tend to take up chunks of time and command far more attention to detail. I think back when I ran missions, I never once tanked or armed specifically for mission rats, and didn't learn about Eve-Survival until I was moving into level IV's and cared about spawn triggers. It all changed at level IV's, and NOT specifically tanking meant a quick death. (true story, I lost my first BS (Raven) on my second ever level IV, and remains the only BS I've ever lost, including PvP) Warping out is just a symptom of that sharper curve in difficulty, and like a nagging kidney stone, too shall pass. And, just like in most mission runners' careers, will shortly be wondering about the risk/reward of level V's, or moving into Incursions. GL |

This is Industrial alt, I have 54 mill SP main who I do mission with.
Edit: So far so good, the fit I posted works very well in missions I did today. |

Quote:X-Large Shield Booster II
Pith X-Large C-Type is your friend here. It's dirt cheap (comparatively for Deadspace mods), gives quite a bit more boost, can be overheated longer and spreads heat at a lesser rate to nearby modules, and has lower fitting requirements. Keep the T2 Boost Amp as even the A-Types are only a slight increase in applied tank and are 100+ mil. Besides 4 months isn't all that low SP to be into LvL 4s (IF) you placed that SP in the correct skills. Correct the Rigs like Bi-Mi said and you should be fine. warping out is a tactic, but it will bite you when it's a mission with timed waves
you have to stay ahead of the waves, or else you will get owned
(rescuing Alliance nublet's wreck on Enemies Abound part 5 after all waves were present)
also, Pirate Invasion (in an Onyx)... hope you're tanky EDM? you mean EFM | what did you just call me? |
