How does the pilot access to the ship's cargo works for ships stored in maint. bay of an Orca?
If I 'park' my industrial with full cargo (say, 20k with my skills) in the Orca: - Does the ship holds 20k while inactive in ship's bay as well? - Is the Orca pilot able to put that much stuff in there (and take it all out) while in space/docked, even if his industrial skills are lower than mine? (by draggins stuff in/out, without activating the ship) - Is someone with lower skills (resulting in less industrial cargo space) able to activate my ship while fully load? What happens with extra cargo if he does? |

skills don't affect the size of the fleet hangar, or the ship maintenance bay. |

If you're asking can the Orca Pilot access the cargo bay of a ship stored in the Orca Ship Bay, I'm not sure you can while it's 'docked' in the orca.
The industrial parked in the orca will lose its cargo bonuses (the 5% per level of skill from the pilot that flew it last) when not piloted but it will also not eject any cargo it's holding when stored.
Again, the Orca pilot may be able to take stuff out, I don't know for sure, but they definately will not be able to put stuff in, as the indy ship will not have the bonuses to capacity from the pilot of the indy ship, so it will already be over capacity.
A pilot with lower skills should be able to board the ship from the Orca bay, but they most likely will not be able to jump through anything while the Indy ship is overloaded.
It wont eject cargo if over capacity. |

Thanks a lot!
Does the stored ship loose skill bonus even if it's Orca's pilot own ship? He can load another ship he ownes into maintanance bay while on the station, doesn't he? |

You should also be aware of the types of items that may be stored in the cargo hold of a ship that's placed in a ship maint bay.
I think it's just ammo/charges. |

I'm having trouble translating this one, but I'll have a go.
When you are in the Hauler, lets say you have 20k m3 of capacity. This is due to your skills & fitting. So you fill it up and your cargo bay looks like 20000 / 20000. When you leave the ship the stats will change to 20000 / 7000. The 7000 is the cargo size due to the ship base cargo and your fittings only. However the ship still has 20000 of stuff in it even though its max capacity is only 7000 unpiloted.
Yes the ship will lose any cargo bonus when unpiloted no matter who flew it last.

Can you put this another way for me? I don't understand what you mean. |

I assume the maintenance bay works just like another storage space for an orca, but for assembled ships. So while docked at the station the owner of the orca may put in that bay an assembled ship he has at that station. (?)
Lets say he has a retreaver full of ore he minned that day. He can dock, activate his orca, store the retreaver inside the maint. bay and fly to corp base or whatever.
(Sorry for my terrible english, it's not my first language). |

no. you can't put a ship in the maintenance bay if it has cargo in it. (except for ammunition and charges, so mining crystals are ok but ore is not ok)
aside from that; yes. |

^^ This. And I hope you are not trying to do the Boomerang Exploit. There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.-á-á-á-á - Oscar Wilde |

Actually the last time I checked (which was back when Fleet Hangars were first introduced, so it may have changed since) you could store a ship that had ore in the ore bay in a Ship Maintenance Bay/Array, as well as the usual ammo/crystals in its actual cargo hold. Ore in the cargo hold is a no-no though.
And yes, when your orca is docked in a station you can load ships in your hangar into the Ship Maintenance Bay and ships in the SMB into the hangar (it doesn't even have to be the active ship to do this).
EDIT: Just tested again and now it no longer works; you cannot put a ship with ore in the ore bay in a Ship Maintenance Bay any more. |
