Ospreys. Fly like a beagle.
Great profit if you mine your minerals to keep costs down. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

Unfortunately there are people stupid enough to believe it. (not saying anyone in particular is. Just that I've seen that advice in a non-sarcastic form.)

Oh I've run into a couple in game. Had one guy swearing and tossing insults for over an hour because I didn't understand that Omber was the best ore to mine because of the Isogen.

Subsidize materials/minerals you need with your surplus stock.
PE/ME-16/16 minimum
Check price history in market data often. Familiarize yourself with the prices of what you will be dealing in. Know them from components/minerals all the way to finished product. Knowing market prices is an efficiency multiplier for manufacturers.

Of course it does. How else would you make a profit manufacturing Ospreys? This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

Look, it's like this. I have 10 million isk, right? I mine some minerals, and I still have 10 million isk. I build them into an Osprey, and sell it for 4.3 million isk.
Now I have 14.3 million isk, because it was all profit, because my minerals were free. It would have cost me like 7 million isk to buy those minerals. Saves me a TON of money! |

Still not sure if you're serious.
I'll assume you are.
Um no, that's not how costing works.
You have 10 million isk.
You mine minerals. Those minerals have a market price. They can be sold instead of making things.
To figure out the actual cost and profit.
Osprey made and sold for 4.3 million. Profit is not 4.3 million. It's 4.3 - cost of the minerals you mined and -any production costs. If the number is a + then that's how much isk you actually made with the supposedly 'free minerals'. If it's negative (the minerals are worth more if sold ) you've lost money and wasted your time building the Ospery. You could have made more just mining and selling it.
So no they are not 'free',
Yeesh if that is the way many people calculate things no wonder so many things on the market are at prices lower then what it costs to make things. |

Osprey's currently take about 8.5m ISK worth of minerals to make and are selling around 4m (roughly their pre-buff build cost).
Pricing the minerals you mine yourself at "Free" is literally the only way you can make a "Profit" with Ospreys.
A hint for next time, Beagles don't fly very well. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.
