Singularity was updated with a new patch (no major changes) and it might take some time until the new patch is served by the new launcher due to caching. Better ways for handling the update process are work in progress CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock | Team Five 0 Bug reporting | Mass Testing |

Good day,
Following my Issue with the "exception" error, the Windows 8 fix did allow me to launch the launcher.
Right now, I can use the launcher to log, which gives me the correct "you are logged as (my username)" message, but the play button doesn't do anything. I tried giving it more time to load but nothing had happened after 30 minutes.
- The New launcher downloading bar is hanging at "100% Validating Data..." - I also noticed that the player count it's giving me is the TQ one, not sure if that's normal. - Firewall is set correctly, temporary disabling the firewall didn't fix the issue. - When I used the old launcher, the patch did load correctly but the new launcher still didn't get past the validation stage at a later try .

It seems like you have the same issue as I had on one machine. Please delete all .patch files in your client folder. Could you please also check for the size of EVE_Online_453216-457011_win.patch? It is probably pretty large and somehow causing problems.

Thank you for your quick response sir!
It did work, and yes EVE_Online_453216-457011_win.patch was very large compared to all other .patch files (1 649 426 Ko). The launcher is currently downloading a new patch (Albeit very slowly compared to my normal DL speed)
I will check back again if any new issues arise.

It's an absolute MUST that the launcher remember previously entered usernames. Believe me, you are going to have a lot of people that are upset if you don't.
Also: even with "/server:87.237.38.50" set, the launcher shows "Server: Tranquility". I'm just going to assume for now that the launcher is actually connecting and downloading the patch for Singularity.
Also my download speed is pretty horrendous, less than 50 kB/s. Generally when I download patches whether it's for TQ or Sisi my download speeds are in excess of 2 MB/s. This is after deleting all of the .patch files in the client folder. |

After login and startup of the client it show me:
Bad Address "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."
It shows me that the server is Singularity and 115 Players are online at the bottom. But there is no way to connect. I get the same error again and again.

The new launcher is horrible. Logging in an account will take even more time. Why donGÇÖt you use this chance to actually improve logging in accounts instead of making it even worse?
In Germany most people have dynamic IP addresses (you get a new IP address every 24 hours). In addition to entering the username and the password those people will also have to enter a character name basically every time they log in.
Also with the new launcher you first have to wait for the launcher to start and then again wait for the client to start.
Why canGÇÖt the launcher simply remember username, password and character name? The new launcher should have an option to automatically log in an account and to automatically start the client without any user input. It should be up to the user to choose whether or not itGÇÖs safe to use that option.

Thank you all for the feedback so far. We're looking into the log-in and start up time issues, as obviously the time from starting the launcher to playing the game is critical. Hopefully we are able to provide a better experience for this after the weekend.
Furthermore we are currently deploying a new build to Singularity which should be available soon. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

I had the exact same issue. I deleted my old shortcut and made a new one, but this time, I added /server:87.237.38.50 instead of /server:Singularity as it was suggested by other players in this discussion and for some reasons, it worked. |

Another thing is that the launcher starts two processes. One that uses about 3-4 MB RAM and one that goes up to ~145 MB. Closing the launcher (with the X top right) after I logged in doesn't close the processes.
EDIT: It's not terminating the launcher processes after I logged in even if I logout again. |

Please see my initial post in this thread for which logs I am talking about. :-)
But it appears that this happens because Singularity was updated with a newer version and we have not published the metadata for the new launcher yet. I am doing this right now. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

@ Noriko Mai, read bellow, it may help since it looks like your issue is similar to mine. Warning however: CCP Habakuk's fix "worked" but I had to use the repair tool after deleting the .patch files. (something about my game launching but saying that my version of the game wasn't compatible, but I may have deleted something important accidentally). The repair tool worked but I also had to make a new shortcut after using the repair tool as the old one was creating exception errors.
If you are not 100% certain, I'd wait for an answer from CCP Aporia before doing anything.

while we're talking singularity, can you move the BS and balancing changes onto singularity? I won't be able to interchange to duality after you change the launcher without tons of work. Don't particularly want to have a 3rd eve file instance hogging my harddrive. |

So I decided to use the SisiLauncher to log into the server and the new launcher started up nicely. Unfortunately, while attempting to download the (~214MB) patch, the launcher stops downloading around the 1-2% mark. |

Sisi updated using the new launcher with out prompting. Might have been something to do with how my short cut was set up. Very large patch but was updating a 4 month old build. Could not test Sisi however because of an updated pass work would not work. |

New launcher is terrible. With n - times typing your long pass.
Stage to play eve online now(on singularity server)
1. I need start launcher. 2. Input login, pass. Okay. then 3. Waiting while client running. 4. Input login, pass second time. 5. Select Char 6. Play.
Not really fast. And also, I can't launch another client.
If I want to loggin mine alt - I need logout from my account in laucher, then input login and pass again.
So button "PLAY" doesn't works.
