Save all login profiles (username/password) so we choose one from a list and press apply.
If any browser allows us to save usernames / passwords information, why can't the launcher or Eve Client do the same?
We are aware of the current inconvenience with the UI for multiple clients. The flow is currently being revisited by our friends in Team Roundhouse Kick. Among other things the launcher should be remembering your usernames. However, for obvious reasons we are not considering to add the option of saving your username/password combination. If the Launcher you're running says 1.32 in the title bar, you're not using the new EVE Launcher, and explains why a) it's not looking correct and b) why the single sign on process isn't letting you play. I tried out the launcher and it installed fine on Win8. However clicking on the newly created shortcut to the launcher yields this screen. clicky One may interact with the links it displays, but not with the window controls. It's semi-crashed and needs to be killed in task manager.
Running eve.exe with /server: argument gives the proper launcher, albeit with small layout problems. clicky
Putting the focus on the "Play" button after login would be neat.
Hope this helps. |

I have just installed the new launcher. However, I didn't get a shortcut on my desktop. After a bit of playing, I can now run Sisi without any problems. No idea why I had to try half a dozen times. Hopefully you'll get this working first time before it goes live. Anyway, here's some info...
When running the eve.exe with the /server setting for Sisi, I got these logs from F:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Sisi\launcher\appdata\EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.531588-beta.3.win32.
I tried running the launcher\launcher.exe without any parameters and got this as well:
Nam Dnilb wrote:I tried out the launcher and it installed fine on Win8. It's semi-crashed and needs to be killed in task manager. I've created a shortcut to launcher\launcher.exe with the server param and the first couple of times I got "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong" with both the Singularity and 87.237.38.50 switches but now it's working with the 87.237.38.50 switch. I've since added the /log:debug param so you'll get more info next time.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and the path to my Sisi install is F:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Sisi.
Why do we have to Login and Play? Can't we just Play? I'm not sure why I need to click a button twice once I've added my login details.
Once running Eve, the Play button on the launcher will disconnect your original session and open a new window for a new session. I think this could be handled better by bringing the original session to the fore. If you want to end a session, you shouldn't be using the Play button on the launcher. |

Installed the launcher last weekend. I had the /server: paramerter issue.
After the launcher update on wednesday, my internet security blocked the launcher. I closed it and can't restart the launcher. Must restart the system.
After the restart the client updated without any problems. A 'errors occuerd' pop up opened after closeing the updated version of the launcher and starting the client:
See the logfile '...launcher.exe.log' for details
Sometimes the launcher didn't validating the client. Sometimes starting the launcher disabled my mouse settings.

The launcher seems to be working correctly for me, but I would like to point out a minor display issue with the new process.
As of writing this this character has not been activated on Singularity so this has allowed me to see that the error messages returned for attempting to log in are not helpful if you do not have a 'valid' account.
When using the current launcher the client returns a message stating that the account does not have a current subscription (or something to that effect).
When using the new launcher/client the error message is instead something about not being able to connect to the server. (Although I will have to wait for account activation to ensure it's not something else on my end).
Resolving this issue will make it easier to resolve issues with trying to sign in. |

It seems to work now for some reason. Reinstalled the test client and used the IP andress to singularity in the shortcut instead of the server name, that did the trick.
What happened was that the launcher looked like the old one and kept trying to connect to TQ, listing online players and so on, except no play button. When i tried to close it it froze and i had to terminate the process. ______

I cannot see anything wrong from the logs, except for one thing: In your previous post you are also specifying the /log:debug argument and the log files are not generating debug level information. That leads me to believe there might be an issue with how you are passing the parameters on to the application using Wine. :-) Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

We've just pushed out another update for the launcher addressing some smaller issues:
- Fixed an issue where self-updating would break the UI if it could not connect to the self-update path
- Fixed an issue with Unicode that would cause the UI to break in languages other than English
We could not reproduce the /server:Singularity command line argument issue in-house, and from reviewing the code it looks like it should work just fine. If someone still has trouble connecting with that argument, please provide launcher and eve logs. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

Downloaded the new version 2.1.532936-beta.3 Tested under Lubuntu 12.04. 3.2.0-40-generic #64-Ubuntu SMP. Wine version 1.5.28. New wineprefix. winetricks corefonts vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010, msvcr100 (native, builtin) msvcr80 (native, builtin) msvcr90 (native, builtin)
(The version of launcher after installing looks like to be EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.533100-beta.3.win32)
The installation went well, launcher started (old style, TQ info about ppl online, no play button). After closing I've got error message with a link to log file:
http://pastebin.com/YTVhyUzY
When I tried to run EVE first time after install with command:
wine explorer /desktop=eve,1920x1080 "D:\\EVE\\eve.exe" --args "/server:Singularity" "/log:debug"
Everything looked well. When I started it second time, the left down images were missing. When I tried it third time but with command:
wine explorer /desktop=eve,1920x1080 "D:\\EVE\\launcher\\launcher.exe" --args "/server:Singularity" "/log:debug"
I've got the same -7 url not found for the login and the left down images were missing too. And when I tried the first command again, same -7 error and no images.

debug.log (Its from the /EVE/ directory not the /EVE/launcher/ dir. In the launcher dir has no debug. log file for me.) http://pastebin.com/VZdKqqF4
The debug log has some errors that might explain missing images and the -7 error. I think the error messages
[0510/210328:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1660)] Messed up entry found. [0510/210328:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1946)] Destroying invalid entry.

Your launcher should update itself soon with a fix for this issue. Annoyingly this update will once more lock up the launcher after it was applied (because it was still the broken code running), but future updates should then work without a problem. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

And when I tried the first command again, same -7 error and no images. launcher.2013.05.10.log http://pastebin.com/2uwttSVydebug.log (Its from the /EVE/ directory not the /EVE/launcher/ dir. In the launcher dir has no debug. log file for me.) http://pastebin.com/VZdKqqF4The debug log has some errors that might explain missing images and the -7 error. I think the error messages [0510/210328:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1660)] Messed up entry found. [0510/210328:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1946)] Destroying invalid entry. Are about the missing images and the error messages [0510/210359:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "The page at about:blank displayed insecure content from cef-error:. ," source: (1) [0510/210359:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL cef-error: from frame with URL https://client.testeveonline.com/launcherv3/en?steam_token=&server=tranquility. Domains, protocols and ports must match. ," source: (1) About the -7 missing login, Hope it helps.
Interesting. I have no clue why there are messed up entries. It might also indicate that our launcher has an issue with SSL certificates under Wine. Can you visit secure websites using Chrome under Wine? Sadly I don't see anything we can do on this from our end, but please let us know if you find anything! :-) Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

Hmm...now the launcher won't update at all or check for verification. There's no golden loading bar at the bottom. I can input my username/password, but nothing else. I cannot even close the launcher without terminating the process. There is no log file. CCP RedDawn: Ugly people are just playing life on HARD mode.
