IMHO - linux testing
The login page not load correctly because it want data with server status and number of clients on server.
"Play" button not enables because - INFO - Sending the following JavaScript code to the browser: setPlayButtonEnabled({"bool": Boolean(true), "label": "Client is ready"}); - sends to login page before it load into launcher
I think that troubles in a eve launcher browser because in ingame browser no troubles http://clip2net.com/s/536WSm
Verify Client button in eve Launcher setting - not work - return error in launcher.exe.log

I'm so glad I downloaded this. It overwrote my regular launcher and now no launcher works to launch EVE. If I do launch any launcher, it doesn't have a loading bar or PLAY button, and freezes the computer and doesn't allow me to click close. I have to force a shutdown in task manager.
My EVE game is now unplayable, and I have to re-download 10GB worth of files to install it.

Hi! I've got an error:
Quote: from log: UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 55-64: ordinal not in range(128)
full text: http://pastebin.com/c44qHTmm
And when i logging in the Play button is grey and seems like inactive, anyway, nothing happens by clicking on it. Maybe it because my account is inactive on Singularity..

EDIT: and now it works just fine. Weird.
Weird indeed. I can confirm everything you said tho, the new Launcher is acting up somewhat.
I am using wine 1.5.30 with a new prefix, no additional packages were installed, no overrides, no shenanigans. Launcher Version as of the writing of this post is V.2.1.533100-beta.
After the first installation, the launcher came up automatically without the /server:singularity parameter, thus showing the current tranquility launcher website. I then closed it and started it again with the correct parameters. I then either got this funky Error -7 instead of the login form, missing images in the bottom left corner, the launcher is not verifying the game (rare) or a seemingly random combination of those things.
However, after a dozen or so tries it finally worked and I could launch the game, the client came up just fine and without any errors on the console. I had to accept the EULA again and got the following error, despite Singularity being shown as "OK" with over 200 players online:
"Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."
As far as the launcher itself goes: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Here's a debug.log for you:
Quote:[0512/124337:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(111)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 8 [0512/124409:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "The page at about:blank displayed insecure content from cef-error:. ," source: (1) [0512/124409:INFO:CONSOLE(0)] "Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL cef-error: from frame with URL https://client.testeveonline.com/launcherv3/en?steam_token=&server=tranquility. Domains, protocols and ports must match. ," source: (1)
Note, that the second and third log entries (cef-error) do NOT occur when the login form works for once.

I had the same problem yesterday. It was gone when I changed /server:Singularity to /server:87.237.38.50.
If I may ask the devs. Whats the difference between the ingame browser and the one from launcher? Because I tried the ingame one for secure sides and it works well. Same with the link in the debug.log. Maybe After Shok found the issue here. Kind a I cant try windows chrome under wine (insaller crashes and I dont have installed one right now). |

Do like the launcher, however signing in twice - once via the launcher and then again at the client is not optimal. As you asked for:
Windows 7 C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\SISITest\ I upgraded my launcher/sisi install after the changes earlier in the week and tbh I couldnt tell you which version I was running. (I last used SISI in Mid April)
Debug log is empty.
This is the launcher.2013.05.12.log And the other one needed in Appdata didnt generate as far as I can see.

The reason you had to enter your credentials twice is that you weren't actually using the new Launcher. If you re-read the first post, it contains a link to an installer to install the new version. The version you were using was the currently live version, v.1.32, but showing the new landing page; this is why the landing page extends beyond the boundaries of the rest of the Launcher window. The ingame browser uses a different underlying architecture so that it won't crash the EVE client if the browser engine crashes. It might also be worth noting that the launcher runs natively on Mac OS, while the ingame browser does not. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

CCP Aporia wrote:Interesting. I have no clue why there are messed up entries. It might also indicate that our launcher has an issue with SSL certificates under Wine. Can you visit secure websites using Chrome under Wine? Sadly I don't see anything we can do on this from our end, but please let us know if you find anything! :-) Haven't had a chance to test the launcher yet, but I'd note that we used to have issues with browsing secure sites in the IGB. A few Wine releases ago the problem silently went away for Eve, but the related Wine bug hasn't been closed because apparently the issue still exists elsewhere. It might be worth it for someone with this issue to try applying the old Wine patch we used to need and try with that. If I run into this issue when I test, I'll give that a shot. |

So now that I became less bad and installed the correct launcher, I can say I like it.
I did have an issue where it froze on my initial use, but shutting it down via task manager and then starting it again worked. Was slow to verify things, but as with the current launcher I am used to the slowness.
However is the verification process when it starts up meant to wipe my sisi settings? Not that it was hard to correct, as I am used to redoing all my settings on sisi ;) Mangala Undocked |

If you used to connect to Sisi using /server:Singularity but now used the version with the IP then the settings will have been reset because the settings folder is constructed using that argument, and thus you will probably now have two of those folders. Something for our Wine users we've discovered during our internal Mac debugging: There seems to be an issue with the certificates file we are shipping with the new launcher which only showed on Mac but not on native Windows.
It might be worthwhile trying to replace the certificate file found in the (launcher path)/appdata/EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.(version)-beta.3.win32 folder with a more recent one, for example with the one located at http://curl.haxx.se/ca/cacert.pem - hope this helps. :-)
Alternately, wait for the next launcher update as it will include a more recent certificate bundle. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

The new launcher seems to work pretty well for me in Windows 7 (64).
As a test, I let the launcher patch my client up from a fresh Tranq client copy.
Will likely give it a test in a few days from Linux and see how that goes.
My only gripe so far: It would be nice if the population count was still present on the patcher after logging in. |

I ran the launcher today, after the new patch hit the test server. It showed up for work, let me log in and then vanished without a word.
I put on my Inspector Gadget hat and opened the task manager to find this. I waited for 15 minutes or so, but did not notice any further activity. I guess this is a launcher update gone half-bad.
Anyway, after killing the tasks and re-launching the launcher all is well and I am all patched up. (Windows 8 Pro)

Thank you very much for the logs! It appears something very low-level went bad in the UI framework we are using when the launcher was about to shutdown. We haven't seen this specific error before, but we are looking at it now. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

Yeah, It looks like the most recent patch crippled the UI, I unfortunately already wiped my client & launcher, but the jist of it is:
1) I run the Launcher. (Using the singularity IP address instead of the name) 2) Launcher boots up proceeds to patch 3) Launcher proceeds to vanish and re-appear and the entire news section on the right plane is blank. 4) I proceed to attempt a log-in, after entering my Username and PW the left plane goes blank only leaving the "Server: Singularity Join other pilots" at the top of that plane.
This leaves me with no method to login at all. |

Try deleting the launcher's cache folder. Something odd seems to be going on with the caching behaviour in the integrated browser engine and a recent launcher website update broke that. Senior Programmer Team Special Circumstances |

It does not seem like that fixes it, the login form still does the -7 error thing most of the time and the sliding ads (Buddy program, Fanfest stream) are not loading correctly. I do have two new entries in the debug.log though, so I might be doing it wrong:
debug.log wrote:[0514/221226:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1660)] Messed up entry found. [0514/221226:WARNING:backend_impl.cc(1946)] Destroying invalid entry.
I can also confirm pretty high CPU usage. The launcher alone uses 100% of one of my six cores while doing nothing at all.
Fake edit: Deleting the client settings seemingly got rid of the "invalid entries", login form problem still persists tho. Complete debug log still looks like this:
