QuickFit 0.9s

This tool I made is a remake of ShipFit.
It is not looking as good as the later, but has more functionality I think. Just try it, its free anyway...

It will be a pleasure for me to correct bugs and making it evolving with your ideas and bugreports.
Please send me ingame mails or private-message on my corp forums (here)

If you like the tool, you can always send me some donations or help me to have cool price on minmatarr hardware Wink
It will be a real help to the poor pilot I am... Rolling Eyes

I hope this tool will be as handy for you as it is for me ugh

On a technical note, the code is Java written, the database are the one given by CCP (so will be as "up to date" as ccp will deliver files....) and I will release source code once it will be more stable and cleaned ! (at the moment, it is a bit lack of documentations on source-code..)

Please, first time user, download the STABLE version, because the UNSTABLE/INACURRATE version won't let you have a nice use of the tool.....

I release an UNSTABLE version for people to "beta test" and help me transform the unstable into stable.

So basically, if you just wanna use it, take always the STABLE version.

Thanx for your time :)

Great tool, looks really nice so far.

I especially like the log at the bottom, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside to see what the program is doing so I know things are being applied.

Just one quick bug I noticed, dmg mods are only being applied to the first gun fitted, and not all.

Looking forward to seeing how this program develops, really love the features + design so far.

Don't you want to "compete" for the best ship fitting tool? :)

It's great here to have 3 good tools to try fitting with your QuickFit, Corair's Shipyard, and Kristine Hall's ship fitter.

This tool is really nice looking, and seems to have plenty of uses. Maybe a bit slow though (at launch and when selecting an NPC in the NPC tab for what I saw, didn't test it a lot yet), but maybe I should upgrade my java version ;)

Great job anyway!

... damn, where is the [] smiley? :)

I don't wanna compete :) A good thing too because my uncle just called me and wants me to house-sit for him so he's flying me to Tennesse from New Jersey for like 2 weeks - I won't be programming much :D

I just wanna do mine so I get some programming practice and that's all. I learned XML, I learned VB.NET and I learned a lot of .NET technology - my goal has been met. Now it's just for fun :D

addendum for above: it doesn't really freeze, it's just it takes really long to load when clicking on anything on anytab (NPC in the NPC tab, a skill on the skills tab, etc.), having then no refresh in that time (then it looks like it has frozen).

I'll update my JRE, 'cause I'm pretty sure it's quite old, it's prolly the reason of this ;)

[Edit] With my current config, when you click on something, then something else and click again and the first, you no longer have that long loading time, so it seems to be only on the first load. But that's only in a particular session, after closing you're backing with the loading time)

The bug about damage mods will be looked at, a shame I didn't see that before release... Neutral

The "slowiness" on some machines is due to the old JDBC version of you JRE probably, also java is not known to be very fast :) But I think updating JRE would help as you said. NPC is also heavy database seeking that is why it almost freeze on your machine. But on every hardware I have tested it, it seems to work with no problem relative to speed... Rolling Eyes

I use java because it is the only way to develop this tool at work without being noticed.
I would have loved doing it in C++ or Delphi, but simply not possible :)

Hum, currently running into a calculation bug for pg, can't figure where is exactly the thing going wrong behind the scene though:
Ship: Jaguar, 40mw base grid
Engineering 5: +25% => base grid now 50, 'till now everything ok.

Now I fit 2 shield power relay II, each should give 10% to grid. First one get the ship to 55.0 mw, ok. But second one get it to 60.0 instead of 60.5 (maybe just a visual bug here?). Adding a third gets to 66.0 instead of 66.55 the same way, so I guess the number is truncated somewhere.

Still considering pw calculations: if i fit a micro aux power core (with nothing else), I get to 60 = 50+10 pw, whereas I should get to (40+10)*1.25 = 62.5. So it looks like the skills bonus are not applied to the power given by the micro aux (I only can guess how it's coded behind the scene, but would think you applied skill bonus on base stats, and then made the calculations, as most items gives % bonus).
This issue is not there with capacitor when fitting cap batteries, so I guess you just have forgotten to transpose this type of calculations for mapc ;)

On a side note: I think it could be quite useful for some fitting to have somewhere an indication of the recharge rate at peak of capacitor and shield at peak (specialy for shield) like in Kristine's Ship Fitter. It would be of great use when trying to build a passive shield tank setup (for the shield/s at peak), and would help to have a quick comparison regarding cap with cap/s at peak (cap/s at peak is more or less optional, but as it's the same formula, it should not be really more work).

All in all it's a great too, really, and being made in Java allows to run it on linux easily too :)

[Edit] adding a seach line for modules could be cool too, but can't really figure where to put it. Handy when you know the name of the module you wanna fit ;)

I'm getting incorrect calculations for cpu + powergrid, due to the program truncating them to integers. I think you should retain at least 2 decimal places in all calculations, which should match ingame.

Optimal and falloff ship bonuses arent being applied, but I think you already know this.

Hybrid/Laser/Projectile ammunition is incorrectly calculating optimal range.
