Just got idea how to fight nullsec ratting bots and maybe add small defensive/offensive tool.
Communication Jamming Unit - small/medium/large - online time 15min - shield+armor+structure 300k/2m/6m - cost 5m/50m/100m ISK - can be onlined only in 100km radius around the stargate - once online ,disconnect and block connection to local chat in current system
Can block automated ratting in nullsec, impose small pvp content to "ratters only" in nullsec.
Next can be stationary POS module, with strategic index level requirement. |

Hmmm.. visible in overview like an SBU? I kinda like it, if so... your HP is a bit high, IMO it should be somewhat equal to an anchorable bubble, but that's debatable. |

And that blocks ratting bots how? If those ratting bots communicate using local, what prevents them from switching to another channel?
So this is just another "remove local from nullsec" thread, I think. |

No it is not about removing local chat at all, it will be good if you can still post on local chat but be unable to see what players and how many of them are in current system, which is important defence information in nullsec.
Ratting bots have usually this checking automated,so when possible enemy (mosty by standing) enter the system, they warp to safe place and wait until you leave system, so is hard or almost impossible to catch them.
By on-lining jammer you will force normal player to go and shoot it or he will be without this information. Bots will be probably forced to stop ratting (they will be reprogrammed for sure) or anyone will be able to catch them. Normal player will just call for help or alone will go shoot it down.
As i mentioned, this is only for nullsec, where list of players on local IS really important. |

Bot(ter)s would quickly adapt. One countermeasure would be to send out "ping" messages or having a "test account" log in and out periodically or jump between systems. If he doesn't show up in local, something is fishy.
So it's still a variation of a "make local unreliable" thread like so many floating around, just under a bit better guise. |

You can't "jam" quantum communications. There is no normally defined "signal" |

AFK cloak. Then when they keep on continuing ratting after assuming your are actually AFK, spring trap. BAM! |

Yes this way i mean it. Players can deal with it same way like with any small roam - wait until they leave or shoot them, just if they wait more then 15min, they will not have "safety" of local channel list, but they can take just few cruisers/cloaky bombers and kill that jammer. Bot can not be programmed to shoot it down or rat, because you can be cloaked and shoot him - i do not se any way they can go around it.

Valid point. I did not read this before. Well, that explains why this communication can not be jammed, but how signal is localized ? Every system have separated chat, so there must by way to identify in what system sender is. And in this localization stargates can have some role which can be cut off. It can also explain why local chat works, but not list of players in local .. Wormhole chat works same way ? Wormholes do not have gates at all.. |
