Checked escrow for a Gistii A-Type Small Shield booster and after going through 3 or 4 scams (transporters described as boosters) I found one listed for 49,999,999 that actually WAS what I was after in Oursulaet.
So being prudent I checked the item 3 times and checked the info 3 times before claiming the escrow.
Then I head to Oursulaet to collect it. But find to my shock that there is nothing there when I arrive.
So I search my assets to find I now possess a Gistii A-Type small shield transporter in a different system (12 JUMPS AWAY)
I really would like to know how the hell this happened as I am 100% POSITIVE that I checked the item out completely pre-purchase and it was what it said it was.

Did you go to the system and change escrow to look in station only, and then claim it? - usually what I do if I'm making sure I don't get scammed... ------------------------------------------------ Current Hobby other than EVE |

Well that's weird. Unfortunately, since it's absolutely impossible for you to prove that you didn't mis-read where the thing was, the official response can only be that that's what you did.
Sorry I'm not helping much. CCP might even believe you , but if they can't independently verify what you say, they can't refund you based on what they believe.

I know what the official response will be. I'm not stupid enough to believe that CCP will ever bother to do anything about stuff like this.
Besides, mis-read the system, possibly. Very much doubt it but possible. But the item itself WAS what it was described as. I checked multiple times to be sure and have zero doubts. But ofc, I'll get told to p*ss off because thats the easy solution.

What Baldour said. I guess the important thing here is that you're lucky enough to actually receive the item you paid for, even if it involves 10 minutes of extra travel.
I doubt an appeal will get you anywhere other than the copy paste responses you usually get.

If only. He got a Gistii shield *transporter*, which might be rare, but isn't all that much use to him.
I got halfway through my own original post before realising that, and I don't believe he'd misread, both on the esrow inspect and showing info on it multiple times, what it actually was. But, he can't PROVE he didn't, so, tough break, better luck next time, oh well.

I DIDN'T get what I supposedly paid for, thats the problem. I paid for a Gistii shield booster and recieved a useless Gistii shield Transporter. What baffles me isn't the location (I don't much give a **** where it is) more that I checked and checked and checked the escrow and each time it showed as the booster but when I paid for it I got the transporter. So 50M out of pocket and with a useless piece of **** mod.

regardless, it should not be this easy for scammers and this hard for buyers.
you should not have to make 43 different mouseclicks checking each and every item 6 different ways to try to protect yourself against scammers.

It would be soo nice it CCP all did away with escrow and introduceses a propper auction system based on the current "market" system.

0 run BPC's. CCP's way of stopping scammers. Very minimal attempt at doing so, I may add.
Escrow to me now is a joke, 50% is labled incorrectly, 25% is fake bookmarks, 12.5% is real bookmarks, and 12.5% of stuff is legitimate sellers.
I now try to avoid ecrow as much as possible. Would be nice to see the overhaul we have been promised so many times before, but again nothing has materialized and the idea swept under the carpet.

I think the safest way to do this is to "accept" the escrow.
Then you get a popup that says "you are about to claim xxx"
That way, if there are 3 items and two are fakes, you dont inspect the genuine one and click on the fake to claim it.
Finally, hit printscreen on the claim screen. That way you can go back and see if you had a brainfart or if you have a legitimate complaint.

Nope, there were only two escrows marked as gistii boosters near each other, the one I went for and one for 48m in jita (that when inspected WAS a transporter and I ignored)
After finding out I'd been duped I checked Escrow and the Jita one was still there so I couldn't have claimed that one.

Check your gamelogs, search for files with the word claim in them. You should find something like:
