It there so CCP doesn't have to listen to people complain when they get themselves blown up. The guy who was sitting next to me in the first nullsec round table who had obviously not had a shower since before boarding his flight to Iceland, you really stank. You know who you are. |

If you set it to red, you are able to shoot stuff and you don't get a pop-up warning. Meaning that if you misclick, you die in highsec. If you set it to green, you are unable to do anything bad that gives you suspect or outlaw status. Yellow is only allowing you to do stuff that gives you suspect status (giving other players the right to shoot you), but not outlaw status (CONCORDOKKEN'D)
Would strongly suggest you to read this: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Crimewatch Less yappin', more zappin'! |

Prevents you from doing something that may let others shoot you, such as taking from their can or shooting at a suspect.
Or, as others said... training wheels, so CCP doesn't have to listen to whines. |

Xavier Liche wrote:So essentially "old EVE" is Safety Disabled yes? They just changed the "are you sure you want to steal?" and "are you sure you want to shoot?" prompts into a drop-down menu.
Also, they removed can aggression and put a "duel" button in its place. I don't understand why they would do that, I guess they were bored. Do YOU like to undock? |

Also, leaving the safety on does NOT protect you from doing something that incites girlfriend aggro. I've tested this. It's not gone well. "you can identify eve players by looking at their cars. Since they don't drive what they can't afford to lose."-á --áBienator II |

Setting it to anything other than red would prevent the comedy bonanza of CONCORD visits resulting from misclicks during pre roam duels in hi sec.

I used to absolutely love sitting outside the rookie system stations in a cloaky ship, watching first-day noobs accidentally get the concordoken, then scream like kindergarteners in local... You do realize it's actually helpful to suicide gankers, yes?
Instead of turning off warnings completely, they can turn them off before popping a Hulk or two and then back on. Or it can save them a lost point in lowsec because they reinstalled and forgot to turn the warning off. |

In a cloaky ship, eh? Those rookie players can be rather threatening with their noob ships that do 10 dps. |

Does that work on my T1 drones too, I was going to take advantage of this and go Goon hunting, but my ship only has mining lasers...
