Latest version should hopefully solve some of the issues with opening the information windows for skills, certificates, ships and modules and adding back right click support for training to a certain level. As well as a few other fixes.
For those having issues loading characters, could you double check your API keys are setup with the correct permissions and see if you have any luck with the latest version? |

Upgrade loaded fine, but fixed none of my issues. Double checked the API and they seem current and accurate, yet other characters still dont load.

well only Mac Eve Tools where I use :
Quote:Legacy API keys These API keys are deprecated and will cease to work soonGäó. Please consult with your 3rd party application's developer about switching to Customizable API keys.
For Vitality I use the Quote:Customizable API keys . This works for my character but not for my two sons characters |

It sounds like either the characters that don't work have the wrong permissions set for Vitality or another application is using the customizable API keys. As far as Im aware each customizable API key can only be in use by 1 application.
The permissions need to include at least the Character Sheet, Skill in Training and Skill Queue, it might be worth trying to recreate the keys on the account that doesn't work and use the link in Vitality to set the correct mask. You can do that here; http://support.eveonline.com/api/Key/CreatePredefined/268435455 |

Just want to say this is a great tool and relieved to have a mac-specific skill planner at last.
One issue I have at the moment is that one of my characters refuses to (re)load their portrait, I have 5 chars added (2 accounts) and just one will not load their portrait - it remains blank. It was recently changed in-game.
Is there a way to manually force a portrait reload? Clicking reload does not work obviously, neither does CTRL-click and deleting the blank...
Obviously this a minor issue as otherwise tool works fine.
EDIT: ok, just found a temporary fix. In, ~/Library/Application Support/Vitality/*API key*/ for the char in question the file portrait.jpg was completely blank. I deleted this and then reload in the app, and portrait is back. Have no idea why the JPG was blank probably didn't fetch from the server and the app doesn't delete it. |

Wow, great work. I love this program. Many thanks for your good work. Surely I donate this with some ISK.
One question please. I couldn-¦t find the Import/Export Plan menues, so that I can transfer the skillplans from the old mac Eve Tool to your great Vitality.
Am I blind or has the workaround changed? |

Thank you for taking on this project.
My (brief) experience so far has been good. The one thing I would like to see about is sorting skills in a plan. In general, I prefer to train skills in order from shortest to longest training time, but I don't see a way to automatically sort skills. Clicking on the "Training Time" button at the top of its column has no effect. It's a minor issue, of course. |

Okay so i have to weird bug to report. For some reason in vitality my noob implant isn't showing up. The one that gives you +9 in all attributes. It confused me at first because the training times were off. My attributes are showing up correctly in Neocom for iOS. Tried adding the account again but got the same problem. Also how about a way to edit the attributes that it uses to calculate the training time. It would be an easy way to see if an implant is worth it. Thanks for the app it has been very helpful to me learning the ropes. |

The startup boosts aren't calculated in Vitality, as far as im aware only Neocom shows these correctly and for the length of time they are active and since there only compatible on new characters its not really been worth the effort for us to add support over other features. Il file this as a feature request, so we might have it in the future.
You can edit the attribute calculations on a plan, by using the cog button and selecting "Setup Attributes" at the moment the attributes aren't saved and will reset when you change plans. Im working on this at the moment, so it should be easier in the future and allow you to set the attributes based on implants. |

Just wanted to say thank you so much for creating this app. I've been manually adding skills to my Google Calendar for a few months now and this is so much more convenient. If I had any ISK I'd donate a bunch to you. Again, thank you. |

This might be a little "interesting" to implement since we need to make sure that all pre-requisites are still met. For example, I currently have a skill plan with Energy Grid Upgrades V (9d+) and Heavy Assault Cruisers I (38m). If I tried to sort that by training time, it should prevent me from doing that since I can't even inject HAC until I finish EGU.
Not saying it can't be done, but it will require some thinking. If nothing else we would need some way to let the user know why nothing seems to of happened. I will add an enhancement issue for it.

Taggart Ambraelle wrote:how do you get the Certs Panel to show skills needed and how do you add skills to a Skill Plan.
You should be able to double-click on a Certificate which should list both other Certificates and skills you need.
To get a skill into a skill plan, open the plan (double click the plan name in the Overview tab), then drag a skill, certificate, ship or module from the search pane on the left into the skill list. |

Just a heads up for the dev, massive skill name change coming up - https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=255207&find=unread I'm sure you're already aware of it at this point, but obviously the sooner you're ready for it the quicker the new release transition when it goes live! :3

Thats a strange one, looks like the Vitality database has become corrupt.
You could try wiping out the Vitality preferences, and seeing if that helps. You can reset the preferences by closing Vitality and either dragging Vitality into something like AppZapper or opening Finder and pressing CMD + SHIFT + G to open the "go to folder" window, and then pasting; "~/Library/Application Support/Vitality" without the quotes. Delete everything thats inside of this directory, and then reopen Vitality and add your characters.
If you wipe your preferences remember to make a note of all the API characters you have set up as these will be deleted from Vitality and need to be added again. |

Indeed. It's something I'm used to in EVEMon, but as mentioned, not a big deal (for me at least--I plan few enough skills in advance that I can easily do the sorting in my head). |

Update is badly bugged for me. Got the message saying update. Told it to install and relaunch, it did. Came up with a blank screen. No characters in the tray, nothing showing in the main window. Like it's a new install... only when I open Preferences and look at accounts, they are all still there and checked.
Also, says "Updating characters" and it's spinning endlessly.
Tried unchecking and rechecking some characters, no luck. UNckecked them all, restarted, used the Update button per account and they came back with the checkboxes checked. But still nothing in the main window, and now the "updating" icon is spinning but there is no text next to it.
Running Snow Leopard on an old Mac Pro. First bug I've had since you began Vitality. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/0dbl.jpg -á-á-áJoin The War Today! |

(checked the API logs, shows two successful accesses that correspond with the two times I pushed the Update button for this account)
This bug seems to happen when the database changes and theres a problem updating the characters skill queues, or theres a network issue.
Try resetting your cache, close Vitality, open Finder and open press CMD + SHIFT + G, to open the "Go to folder" window, and paste in; "~/Library/Application Support/Vitality" - without the quotes. Delete everything thats inside of this directory and reopen Vitality.

Afraid that didn't work. When I reopened Vitality it looked the same as before... blank main screen, accounts still listed under Preferences. When I tried to update one account, it seemed to pull the characters and make a new folder for it in the Library/App Support folder. However still nothing on main.
At this point I decided to clean out that folder, then reopen Vit and delete all the accounts/keys. Then reopen again. So it downloads a new database, no accounts entered, no folders for the accounts. Added one account, closed prefs without updating... and now the main window shows "Updating characters" the entire time I've been writing this. Then tried to update it directly from the Preferences window with the update button, and it just crashes. Text follows... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/0dbl.jpg -á-á-áJoin The War Today! |

Got somewhere I can post the crash log? can't do it here, eve thinks it's HTML and refuses it At this point going to revert to 0.2.8 and hope it works still. Heh.
That is very strange, sounds like Vitality is struggling to communicate with the EVE API, we haven't changed anything in this so the latest version shouldn't be the cause. Does 0.2.8 work for you? Could you send me the crash log in a mail in EVE, use http://pastebin.com/ to store it online and il have a look.
You could also have a look at the raw logs via the Console app (inside the Utilities folder), if you type Vitality into the search bar at the top of the app, you will see all the entries Vitality has made, might indicate a problem. |
