Will do. Just to be clear, I entered the API key for one account into Preferences, did *not* hit the Update button, just closed Preferences and the "Updating" message appeared at the bottom of the window. When I used the Update button inside the Prefs window, the Eve API log showed a successful data pull (and the Preferences window repopulated the characters with their boxes checked).
Definitely suspect something went pear shaped with the way the auto-update works.
AH, well I found one obvious thing in Console. 9/4/13 6:29:04 PMVitality[470]CCPDatabase error: (5) unable to close due to unfinalised statements Followed by a large number of lines that all read 9/4/13 5:51:52 PMVitality[356]-[CCPDatabase privateCertSkillPrereqs:]: Query error just gradually changing the timestamp.
9/4/13 5:54:45 PMVitality[370]NSWindow does not support utility styleMask 0x10 9/4/13 5:55:04 PMVitality[370]Database successfully built!
then a bunch more lines of Query errors

Time to get you a big ol' text dump. Heh. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/0dbl.jpg -á-á-áJoin The War Today! |

Update. Apparently my prefs file was malformed, when I threw that out I could run 0.2.8 again. Loaded one account, created test skill plan. Also, the Primary and Secondary column options appeared, which were not working for me previously.
Unfortunately even with a totally clean install, 0.2.9 is still not working. Here's the tail of the Console log: 9/4/13 8:28:55 PMVitality[825]CCPDatabase error: (5) unable to close due to unfinalised statements 9/4/13 8:28:55 PMVitality[825]-[CCPDatabase privateCertSkillPrereqs:]: Query error ... 9/4/13 8:28:55 PMVitality[825]-[CCPDatabase privateCertSkillPrereqs:]: Query error 9/4/13 8:28:55 PMVitality[825]resized NAME to 10.00 9/4/13 8:28:55 PMVitality[825]*** -[NSKeyedUnarchiver decodeObjectForKey:]: cannot decode object of class (NSLayoutConstraint) 9/4/13 8:29:01 PMVitality[825]Saving Accounts (at this point it's sitting at "Updating" apparently stuck) 9/4/13 8:30:03 PMVitality[825]Shutting down http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/24/0dbl.jpg -á-á-áJoin The War Today! |

Hmm, will look into this, very strange indeed. If your having a problem, can you confirm if your using the Odyssey 1.1.0 database in Vitality, by opening the Preferences and looking at the Database tab. And the version of Mac OS X your currently using. |

Have DB 1.1.0 Mac OS X 10.6.8, stuck on Updating character. Clean install.
Will try home on a bit newer OS |

I got the same blank window problem. There must have been changes with API, too, because Mac Eve Tools has for a while been unable to add newly done API keys. |

Were working on the problem with the characters being unable to update, if your having this issue. Use 0.2.9 of Vitality to update to the latest database and then use 0.2.8 - the latest database will be compatible. You can download 0.2.8 from; http://labs.sixones.com/vitality/builds/vitality-0.2.8.zip
Mac Eve Tools is not compatible with the new API keys, and EVE know longer lets you generate the legacy keys. This is why Vitality was born. |

Loving Vitality, great way to keep stuff organised.
Something I can't find, or I don't know if it's a feature to be implemented, is an EvEMon-style "insert remap" into a skillplan, and also an auto-optimise for my stats and my skillplan. I've put in a skillplan where I want to remap halfway through and it would be very handy to be able to see updated times for after the remap.
Thanks! |

I've never used EvEMon, but I'll add your idea as an issue in Github.
By the way, anyone who wants to contribute can create an account on Github and have a look at the project there. That includes all of the 'issues' (bug reports, new features, etc) that we currently have.

So lately (started before mavericks, not sure when exactly) I've been getting timer problems like this: http://i.imgur.com/ezf0ZWQ.png (In reality, there was about a day or so left on the train.)
Hitting the "reload" button doesn't do anything, even deleting the api key and recreating the character won't fix it, the only way to fix it is to queue a different skill. |

If this is on a new character, do you have one of the training boost implants installed? |

Ok, then. The next time it happens, can you open Console.app (in /Application/Utilities) and copy everything you see that's related to Vitality and mail it to me, in game, I'd say? Don't post it publicly because your API key will be in there. Or you can delete all of the key related stuff which will look something like this: ?keyID=[numbers]&vCode=[numbers and letters]. With your API key id and code where the "[GǪ]" bits are.
Probably the easiest way to get just the Vitality related stuff from Console is to "Show Log List" if the side bar on the left isn't showing. Then make sure that "All Messages" is selected in the log list. Then type Vitality in the "String Matching" field in the top right of the window. You can then select a bunch of the most recent entries and copy/paste them.
Thanks! |

Thanks for the logs. Unfortunately I don't see any error messages in there, and nothing else that hits at a cause.
I'll keep looking through the code and see if there are places I can add better debug output. |

One other thing I noticed is that really, really long date/time strings can overlap with the "time remaining" strings above the time remaining bar. Here's an example of where it would overlap if I'd taken a shot yesterday: http://i.imgur.com/gTPO8eP.png
I'm not sure if this was a fond change with Mavericks or not. |

Just discovered this app. I used to use Mac Eve Tools, but now mostly use Neocom and Dusk. Thanks for doing this one - Now I can actually do skill planning without my iPad!
One thing I've noticed: there doesn't seem to be a way to import a skill plan from some other app, like Dusk. Of course, Neocom doesn't seem to have an export option, so that's annoying. Still, Dusk to Vitality would be useful (or the other way, Vitality to Dusk, or to Neocom).
Should I put a feature request in github? http://eveboard.com/ub/1939472205-31.png |

You can import EVEMon skill plans. Go to the Skill Planner Overview and click on the gear icon on the right hand side of the window. When you are looking at a particular skill plan that gear icon offers a couple of export options.
Sounds like importing and exporting probably menu items on the menu bar.
I hadn't heard of Dusk, but if it can't export EVEMon format, I can have a look and see about supporting it directly.
I definitely encourage people to have a look at the github site, especially the Issues tab, and see what we already have there and/or add your own ideas or bug reports.
Currently working on Rubicon support, but with the large changes to the certificate system it may take me a while. |

Hi
would love to use the application but it crashes on start.
I got Macbook Air (early 2011), 1.7 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD 3000, Maverics OS X 10.9 (13A603).
Would be great if you could have a look on that case.
Let me know if you need the crash log and where to send it.

Just did the switch from Mac Eve Tools to Vitality. I ran into a problem with the API not giving the right accesses, so I had to reset the API. The only way I found that out is by tailing out /var/logs/system.log. The client needs to capture this error and display it to the user...for those who aren't comfortable around Console.
Otherwise, great resource. Keep it up. |

Corpmate just pointed me to this app after his MET stopped working. Thank you very much for loving the OSX crowd! Like Galen above, I mostly use Neocom and Dusk (both on iPhone / iPad), this is nice for those days I'm sitting at the computer and to be able to create multiple theoretical plans. /me does a little dance No one plans to fail, some fail to plan. |

We will probably need a crash log. You can mail it to me in game if you want it kept private, otherwise post it somewhere and link to it here. Or, if you have or make a github account you can attach it to a new issue at https://github.com/sixones/vitality/issues.

I love love love Vitality, but I am not a big fan of the app icon so I took a stab at creating a new one that follows the 10.9 aesthetics, I hope it is to your liking. I would give an ISK donation in gratitude for such a useful tool, but I am poor in game at the moment so hopefully my talents will suffice as thanks.
