Hmm.. not been around much and I'm looking for information on War but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know what happens when a corp war decs your corp? Who pays for it? Suppose you don't fight or can't yet fight because your corps skills are not built up yet. What happens when you surrender.
Does anybody have answers or know where there is more info?
Any help appreciated thank you.

After 24 hours your corp and the other one can legally shoot eachother everywhere.
They pay for it.
You can leave your corp or stay docked/offline if you cant/wont fight.
Surrendering only works if they accept it, your CEO and theirs dock at the same station, yours hit surrender and a trade screen pops up where money and items can be placed into it. If both parties accept the war ends. ------------------

Or if you want to really stir the ****e pot, you could make the war dec mutal then it would cost nothing to them but they cant retract it either. But you would need to be able to fight or at least willing to learn (frigs 4tw).
I wonder why corps deced by mercs dont do this eventually the merc outfit would have so many concurrent decs it wouldnt be able to effectively carry out its business :)

Thanks for the info guys.
Well, we're a mining and building corp and are quite surprised that anyone would bother to hire someone to declare war on us. We don't usually bother anyone, but maybe we p*ssed someone off by mining where we weren't welcome.
We haven't got the firepower or skills to fight, and don't want to keep getting miners destroyed so I guess we're going to have to sit it out. Unless there's a better solution. Surrending is not really an option as we're not that rich.

I would bet 100 million that nobody hired them, and they're just doing it for the kills.
'cause thats how I used to do it, back in the day, along with everyone I know.

Yeah, you didn't anger anyone, you're just a ripe target; they figure they can probably extort a few hundred million out of you. Happens all the time.

PLEASE let it end in their death! Attacking a small manufacturing corp hardly seems like a decent thing to do unprovoved.

This seems to be happening more and more now. Unless there is something done to stop corps wardec'ing whoever they like for no other reason than they look like easy kills, there will continue to be more pressure for CCP to change the game to make it more 'carebear' friendly. Or the game is just going to stop attracting new players and instead have a dwindling number of VET players.

If you're getting genuinely grief wardecced with no other reason, there are lots of corporations around that will come help just for the asking (some charge a moderate fee, much cheaper than replacing your fleet three times over, but many will not.)
Maybe I should write a brief guide to surviving a war declaration. Heh. _______________________________________________ The Dead Parrot Shoppe is always looking for players, new and old, who value intelligence, humor, and fun over ego, kills, and skills. Contact me. :) |

That, and list the name of the corps that will help.
It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch. People hate nerfs, yet they exploit every single thing they can. So the devs come to a point where they are forced to make changes. Right now there is a gank squad of one day old toons killing mining barges in Jita, a .9 area. A person can start a toon, and the very same day can be a successfull pirate. Yet to fly a mining barge and use strip miners takes weeks of training and has almost no defenses unless you have drones, and even they can only do so much. A corp of weak players can declare on a corp they see as weaker still because they can't compete with real fighters, and are looking for easy kills. These kind of things can only lead to nerfs down the road as newer players quit out of frustration in droves.
So when the nerf bat hits you, don't say you weren't warned.

Wardecs should be dropped entirely to keep highsec a safe place for all carebears (like me).
Carebears pay the monthly fee as well, they enjoy other parts of the game (mission running anyone?).

My overhaul of Eve would involve more stations in 0.0, war decs not being effective in highsec, and the removal of Kernite and Omber from highsec. I believe this protects carebears enough, but provides strong incentive to move into places where you aren't safe.

Sounds like a good deal to me. No more war dec griefing and more incentive to go low sec.

Whats wrong with the 0.0 where there are bunches of stations, like Stain- and Curse?
0.0 is station deprived unless the players build them. Its how it should be. Its the unsettled frontier. ---- EVE-Central.com | Obsidian Technologies - 0.0 Manufacturing, Defense and Logistics. We're hiring! Mail me |

I'm not talking about a HUGE amount more stations. Just one more per constellation. But since there would most likely be more people in that direction, they'd need more offices/labs.
