When I go through a jump gate or exit a station the screen goes blank and turns itself off. The game then comes back on screen after about 2 - 3 seconds. This is a problem when trying to run gate camps and has made me unable to go near low or nul sec. I have had about a 6 month break and it has only happened since I came back. I had no problms with Incursion (the last version I played), it seems to be something to dow ith the Incarna patch.I have changed the graphics settings to lowest setting and cleared the cache.
I am running an acer aspire 5745 with intel HD graphics card. 4gig DDR3 memory. I am running windows 7 64 bit. Graphics drivers are updated. |

Just to elaborate, it's the moment the ship loads up. So I go through a gate for example the second the ship has to reappear the screen goes blank for about 2 seconds and then the ship is there again. |

Im afraid the problem is with your graphics card as is with most Intel graphics cards when playing EVE, and sadly we do not have a workaround for this. Our developers have done all they can client wise to try solve the issue but I'm afraid the ball is in Intel's hands, this is something that has to be solved within the graphics drivers.
In some cases the following have shown some success in stopping problems with the Intel graphics card, but sadly not all:
1. Install the latest available graphics card driver from either www.intel.com or your manufacturers site website. 2. Start Eve in Safemode or set Shader Quality to Low. 3. Run the client in windowed mode (Alt+Enter can be used to switch to windowed mode when the client starts up for the first time) 4. Disable power saving features for the Intel Graphics Chipset. 5. Untick "Sun occluded by ships" in EVE's graphics settings. 6. Install a Windows patch from: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067 7. Update your DirectX from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3 8. start -> write: video -> start: view the name of video card -> Advanced settings -> Intel(R)... tab -> Graphic settings -> 3D -> Custom settings -> Texture quality: Performance, Anisotropic filtering: 16x, Vertex Processing: Enable software prosessing, Vertical Sync: On.
If none of the above suggestion help I'm afraid there's nothing we can do to solve this issue for you.

Thankyou for your help there I will certainly attempt some of these ideas. I have also read that a few others with intel graphics have had desktop crashes when going through gates etc since Incarna has been released. Surely therefore it is something to do with Incarna (and therefore Eve) as opposed to intels graphics chips, since people have said it's started happening to them since Incarna has been released? |

The problem did get more serious after the release of Incarna but it's been there for longer than that. Our developers did everything they could to remedy the issue on our end but were unfortunately not 100% successful without having to drastically change the client in a way that would affect other graphics cards performances as well ( nVidia and ATI ) Doing so would also have caused us not being able to utilize the graphics technology needed to our standards.
All information on this have been sent to Intel for review since the problem is regrettably withing their drivers, we can thus only hope they'll be able to locate the cause and have it fixed.
