Two of my 14 characters have recently had bounties placed on them. Why?
They have never heard of the people who placed the bounties. They don't leave Hi Sec. They don't talk or listen to anyone.
Personally, I think the bounty system is a good reason to quit the game.
Thank you, CCP. Sorry to tell you this, but committing suicide should be done quickly. NOT the way you have decided to do it. |

What does it matter, if you have a bounty or not? If you wanted to have a larger one though, making this thread was the correct move. |

Seems kind of strange to get so upset over something, that doesn't have any negative impact on you. |

For the eleventith time:
- Bounties don't change any of the aggression rules for anyone.
- Even if you don't talk to anyone you are still interacting with others in some way. Maybe you are taking up precious research or manufacturing slots that someone else wants. Maybe you mined out a belt that someone else wanted a piece of.
- "Good" and "bad" are relative. You might see yourself as perfectly innocent and having done nothing wrong... meanwhile your "competition" (see: other miners, industrialists, mission runners, etc) thinks you are the devil.
- Some people just want to see other people burn... for no reason. After all... this is just a game. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Well, if you want to get rid of those bounties, there are three ways:
- fight until your losses match the bounty (PvPr's way) - use an alt/friend to duel yourself and lose the needed amount (carebears' way) - unsub until the bounties are reimbursed (but bear in mind that the exact time it will take is a secret)
Or you can just ignore the bounties. The Greater Fool Bar-áis now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden!-áIngame chat channel: The Greater Fool Bar |

Bounties really don't matter. I've played close to 300 bounties, almost all randomly on people like yourself, just for the sake of doing so, including some on my friends, and corp mates. It's insignificant. At the least, it lets you know when that person has died, and at worst, it -might- cause enemies to prioritize attacking you over your friends.
However, I have a 200mil bounty, I guess it's 184 now or something, and I haven't experienced being primaried any more so than I'm used to, with an A name.
Get over it, it really means nothing. (bounties) |

If you don't have a bounty then you stand out from the crowd. A war hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, High Chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside. |

Two of your 14, that surprises me, would have thought all 14 would have had bounties unless you don't use the other 12.
Yep, as others have said bounties are meaningless, CCP in their wisdom introduced the system without fully engaging their think tank. |

Anyone remember about eight months ago when CCP announced the bounty and kill right changes and how the bears were all super-happy that they'd finally be able to take revenge on the mean gankers, et cetera? And how we told them what would actually happen, like we did before any other changes that were meant to benefit them, like CONCORD/ganking stuff?
I do, lol. I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

So bounties serve no purpose? Having a bounty is exaclty the same as not having it? Shocking, but it must be true if it comes from someone with your expertise.
So please tell me... if bounties don't change at all the game experience for the player getting them, if having a bounty is exactly and precisely the same as not having it, then why do they exist? That's what I thought as that was pointed during discussion, but I petitioned the matter and the answer summarizes as "it's unknown and anyway we can't tell you".
Would be interesting to put a bounty on an alt, cancel it, and wait until you get the refund, though. The Greater Fool Bar-áis now open for business, 24/7. Come and have drinks and fun somewhere between RL and New Eden!-áIngame chat channel: The Greater Fool Bar |

Given your recent outbursts in the tags4sec thread, colour me surprised that bounty isn't significantly higher.

It doesn't change the game experience for you (unless you get a really big bounty and have a fondness for flying really valuable and really weak ships), but it does for the people around you GÇö for them, the difference between your having and not having a bounty means they end up with some ISK instead of none when they kill you.
