Hi guys
I have a small problem. When I launch EVE on my main PC running XP64 I get the message about the Incarna 1.1.2 Client Update #1 needing to be downloaded. When I click ok though nothing happens.. the progress bar doesn't move and nothing is downloaded.
When I tried it on my Vista laptop it downloaded and installed fine.
Does anybody know where the client update file downloads to? I figure if I could just nab it from the laptop and install it on the PC then that should fix it.
Tried clearing the cache and nothing.
Thanks! |

or you could copy the entire installation off the laptop. But I'm not sure you can copy just the fix...

or actually now that I think about it. It has nothing to do with the installation itself.
It's the settings files in AppData\Local\CCP\client_path\settings\*
So you could try copy those off your laptop (keep backups though)

This didn't work unfortunately. So I shall copy the game folder and see if that works.. *digs out network cable*

Dammit, copying the entire client over didn't fix it either!

Success! I fixed it!
In case anybody else has this problem, for reference the file needed is 305299.code and it should be in the folder ProgramData/CCP/EVE/client_path (on Vista, possibly Win7 too)
On XP it should be in the folder Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP\EVE\client_path
Yay me! \o/
Also, thanks Chribba for the pointers!

Could you check if the Ingame Browser works, using this workaround? |

Confirmed as working, typing this from the Ingame Browser now.
