Hi all.
I have been exploring for a while now being very familiar with the 3/10 & 4/10's of each pirate faction. I am planning to venture deeper into exploration, by going down to low sec.
I can use Loki and Tengu with reasonable skills (read mostly 4/5's) in the affecting skills. I have yet to take out the Tengu for a spin, but EFT'ing (yes, I know..) the dmg projection over huge range seems to be a big plus. I kind a feel the Loki has to few of range to complete these..
The question I have is following: What kind of tank and DPS is considered "sufficient" to clear DED 5/10 & 6/10 sites? Asuming I will not be running Blood Raider sites (because of running active tank vs neuting) is there a guideline for tank and DPS in the 5/10 & 6/10? Are they, Blood Raider not considered, about the same in toughness/competion time?
I plan on switching between travel/scan + combat fit.
If any decent fits, feel free to share. Might give me some new idea's. |

DED 5s I tend to find to be much like level 4 missions, and thus typical runner fits work. Most of the risk to me is that they take time to clear until the last pocket, so lots of time to be engaged by other players.
Not all races have a ded 6, and the notionally equivalent serp unrated is pretty nasty in its escalation. |

DED 6s just have more pockets and more battleships, but the site difficulty isn't all that different. Much of the risk comes from the longer time it takes to complete the site, so interruption can be relatively common. If you rely on speed to tank, DED 5 sites might even be more dangerous, since the final pocket has stasis web towers and a swarm of ships closing in on you. They're not a big problem, but they can overwhelm an unprepared explorer. |

Yup. All of the above. DED 5s are somewhat more geared toward tank, and the last room will have web towers and high incoming damage that can overwhelm you unless you can get your speed back up (and/or kill the overseer and warp out, but the two solutions amount to the same thing: damage at range).
DED 6s are a varied lot and require more damage than DED 5s. The Sansha 6 requires ~600 pure EM to break the overseer, the Blood (which, as much as it pains me to say it, is entirely possible to run in either mentioned ship and really doesn't feature heavy neuting) requires ~500 pure EM. The only other "true" DED 6 is the Guristas site, which is a bit of a pushover.
The two pseudo-6s are a bit different. Angel Mineral Acquisition Outpost is the easier of them, but still slips in a neut tower and plenty of webbing. Serpentis Logistical Outpost has a well-earned bad reputation; the amount of neuting in the escalation is awesome. Oh, and unlike their true rated counterparts, these will scramble you as well. And you also need plenty of damage to break the overseers. Having said that, I kind of like them; ymmv. |

And then, one day by pure chance you stumble into guristas space, do a few of 5/10's or escalations from outposts and don't want to bother with serpentis neuting towers any more . The payouts are so damn out of balance between factions, and even tho I understand that they are economy driven, I still don't understand why a-type invuls are so much more wanted then say a-type eanms... |

I can do a angel 5/10 in under 40 minutes with a PvP fittet Tornado. The Angel "6/10" (There is no real Angel 6/10, but their is the unreated one that escaltes an drops the loot of an 6/10) is a bit more tuff, but also duable in a tornado. Offgrid boost would help.
A (Well fittet) Tengu can tank them without sweating. German blog about smallscale lowsec pvp: http://friendsofharassment.wordpress.com |

I do them in a tengu or a prot. Both are fairly fast. I have lost several ships doing them but only 2 to rats and 4 to people stealing my sites. You can do them easy with t3s. However they can also be done with the drake, gila, nado, domi or any rr setup. Watch out for the last gun in the mineral angel site he is a ****. Oh yes and one more thing if I catch you running a site in my system I am gonna steal it or pop you.

Because they're so much better. Granted, invulns provide a stronger damage reduction factor than eanms (pithum a-type is 1 meta below estamel). The real imbalance is in the boosters, where deadspace armor is like 10, 20, 30% better than t2, but deadspace shield is like 40, 60, 200% better than t2 on the most important metrics (don't feel like crunching numbers again here). A-type EANMs go on super caps, and I would guess the a-type invluns do too, but invluns also go on incursion boats. but also A-type EANMs have been in the game for far longer than a-type invluns. if you wanted to buy a shiny invlun your choices were faction or officer, so I would guess that has something to do with the price, now how far will it budge I really have no clue, if anything I would guess it will be somewhat stable as they have been out for a while now. You can trust me, I have a monocole |
