Quote: Perimiter GÇô The Caldari Navy has released a report revealing Admiral Visera Yanala's clone failed to activate following her podding during the battle of Caldari Prime. The State has reacted in shock, as the admiral has widely become viewed as a cultural hero following indications she acted to preserve lives on Caldari Prime as her ship was destroyed in orbit.
State Executor Tibus Heth subsequently gave a statement calling Yanala's death, GÇ£a tragic cloning accident.GÇ¥ He went on to say, GÇ£I can only presume that, as she concentrated to take her final acts, she forsook her own safety and hesitated so her capsule was caught. What happened next is still uncertain, but it only serves to make her sacrifice even greater.GÇ¥
Across the State, citizens have expressed their shock at the news. Several businesses have closed early, including CBD Sell Division. Each of the megacorps has also announced they are permitting non-essential personnel to leave early if they wish, in order to attend one of the numerous memorial ceremonies.
The Chief Executive Panel has indicated it will investigate the circumstances surrounding the cloning accident. It has announced the traditional opening bell to the State Stock Exchange will not be rung tomorrow morning, instead being replaced with an eight-gun salute in Admiral Yanala's honor.

While other aspects of her career bear discussion -such as her destruction of CONCORD Marshall-class DED ship- , any loss of capsuleer life due to cloning failure is to be mourned. It reminds us all that our existence is fragile, and that we should respect the risks. |

Can anyone point my at other instances of capsuleer cloning equipment failing this badly before?
On top of that, we're stuck with commercial-grade equipment, while she no doubt had access to military-grade cloning technology.
The State surges with support for Admiral Yanala, and now we find out she died to an accident, 2 months after the day it happened? Very convenient, Heth, very convenient indeed.
Despite having being in the fleet that probably shot her down in the first place, and given the details the CEP/CN investigation revealed about her final actions, I don't think she deserved the fate that had been dealt to her. Perhaps that now, after 200y, the Caldari and Gallente people can finally look at one and the same person, and both see a hero. And that they can both look at another such person, and both see the villain. |

Coincidences do not make conspiracies. Look into the concept of apophenia, capsuleers. We're fed so much data, that the relative dearth we receive from accredited news sources causes us to assume all data is connected.
That said, it is a terrible tragedy that Yanala-haani's cloning bay failed to activate properly. I hope that the responsible parties are relieved of their duties. Further, I will state that while I don't believe that the State or CalNav was obligated to tell us of this failure, the CalNav surely knew of the cloning failure soon after the fall of the Shiigeru, and would have done well to acknowledge this technical failure when initial after-action reports were released. |

why are you being around the bush with it?
But I don't think Tibus Heth will continue to benefit from her death. There are going to be questions to be ask, and answers that need to be given (i.e: how , and why).
Perfect environment for conspiracy theories to fester among the populace, and all most likely to be to set Tibus Heth in the negative light, further eroding his support among the populace.
There is a storm brewing in the horizon, soon darkness will come.

Admiral Yanala was a capsuleer?
I should have seen that coming.
On a side note, I can't help but think that old Tibus Heth wasn't being completely sincere. He hasn't much cared for life before, shown by his extermination of the first generation of clone soldiers, his blatant disregard for the lives of protesters, and his overall mental instability. That said, I can't blame him. Grab hold of political power wherever it may be and whatever form it may hold. He needs it. How droll. |

Look at it this way.
- Yanala was given the order to fire the doomsday on Caldari Prime, which she did not do.
- Whoever gave Yanala this order will look like a deranged mandman and a traitor to the State.
- If Yanala survives, she can let the galaxy know who's orders she defied, which would probably put said person in deep trouble. The solution, convientently have Yanala fail to clone.

Of course, it could all be coincidence. But thousands of capsuleers perish and are reborn again on a daily basis, for some individuals, multiple times a day. Hell, sometimes capsuleers will kill themselves in their pod to be cloned again at another station, a sort of one way, instant transportation if you will.
Someone failing to clone isn't unheard of, but in this day and age, It's EXTREMELY rare. So rare that it's an issue that some capsuleers, probably even the majority of us, aren't even aware this can happen to them. The only realistic possibility of cloning failure is sabotage or some other form of damage to any key components involved in the cloning procedure.
So, a legendary admiral who might have quite a lot to say randomly fails to clone after dying in a major battle, a battle where she opposed the orders of someone with great power. It's a bit too good of a coincidence if you ask me.
With all this in mind, does anyone really think that random cloning failure is the culprit here?
