What about adding a black hole or two in New Eden (TQ), it's not uncommon for galaxies to have them, and they could have like really rare stuff and etc. the system would have to be maybe 60-75 AU's or something, so part of the system could be not dangerous and in the Event Horizon or something, idk. the only problem i see is severe Server strain and such. Just and idea thats all. -Lynx |

All ships coming within 50 AU of the hole drop out of warp and then instantly warp directly to it's center where their ship and pod explode simultaneously |

More real than what you want. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

and due to time space instability, the clone mind dump fails to leave since gravitational forces prevent it and its perm death |

technically you would reawaken without memory of what happened from your last clone.

Actually, with the Time Dilation mechanics in place it's plausible to simulate the effects of a black hole's gravity on the passive of (subjective) time. It would also make for some potentially interesting "mining" (ore and other) experiences as well as fun combat spots. |

The problem i see is when you come back from the black hole system and all other chars already have a billion skill points while your char is still the fresh and young one that he was an hour earlier. |

You'd have to be "gone" for the equivalent of a century or more for people outside of the time dilation field to accrue "billions" of SP. |

This a particularly great idea. I'm sure it has been invisioned by many EvE players time & time again. When one thinks of space, one of the most popular connotations is the anomalous black hole. I see it as something essential to a space exploration game.
It would open up and exciting element of space travel, and break from the mundane monotony of that is space travel currently. Although, they should be dangerous. Realistically so. So I really don't see the prospect of adventures within them as something desirable. They should be oddities. Very hazardous ones. |

There are 1-2 scattered around but last time I was around the systems they are supposed to be near they were no longer reflected in the nebulas that I could see i.e. ginnungagap or something. |

Funny stuff.
But seriously what do you people think a wormhole is?
Spoiler alert, it's two black holes. |

I actually was thinking about this. it could be a new type of WH space effect? (if its not already) my idea tho. was if you fly towards the black hole (imagine itd replace the sun in a solar system) your ship goes really fast. if u fly side by side to it, normal speed, and if u try fly away from it, u move slowly. could make for some interesting stuff
Edit: wait "solar system" imples the presence of a sun. wtf would a black hole based system be named? |
