So I'm a newish player just doing some research into which style of play I want to take. So I've been looking through EVEmon trying to come up with a few things.
The hurricane would be mostly for ratting in nullsec. The cheetah would be for scanning/probing/scouting in fleet pvp, and just general scanning for plexes in PvE.
Cheetah: The plan here would be to train through Minmatar Frigate V and then remap heavily into Intelligence.

I realized that I posted the Cheetah plan from a fresh character accidentally, but that's ok since I don't know most of those skills anyways. On this main I have a few things trained already towards a hurricane.

Things you want to add and remove.
- Heavy Drone Operation (Don't need Heavy Drones for a Hurricane) + Scout Drone Operation V (Gives you T2 light and med drones) - Caldari Drone Specialization (Yuck, Caldari drones suck - use Gallente for PVE) + Minmatar & Gallente Drone Specialization II (PVP & PVE drones - maybe Amarr if you're in Sansha/Blood Space) + Medium Artillery Specialization IV + Medium Autocannon Specialization IV (You'll want both for PVP) - Standard Missiles (Don't need) + Energy Emission Systems IV (You'll want to be able to neut in a Hurricane for PVP) |

Correct on HDO and SDO. Add DI 4 at least.
On the racials though.... Yeah, possibly nix Caldari drones. They're a lower priority than Gal/Min. But if you're cutting corners at all, do not under any circumstances train Amarr drones. Other than sentries, Gallente drones will always outperform Amarr drones against EM-weak rats. Ironically, Caldari drones will outperform Gallente drones against a much wider set (including Guristas and some Serpentis -- go figure).
Otherwise, yeah, BC 4 minimum. It's probably one of the first "long" skills I'd recommend buckling down and taking to 5 for relatively new players. |

Depends on how new for BC V...for a 4-5m sp char that can already use T2 autocannons and field a full t2 armor tank AND t2 shield tank, along with t2 neuts and t2 light drones, then Yes train it to V. If not, train other stuff to V first. You can practically fit it all in there in the time it would take to get BC V from BC IV. |
