I'm reluctantly cancelling my Eve account from the 10th of this month, for the following reasons (if anyone is interested):
- Content - or lack of. - Fed up with farming NPC rats. - I feel like I am wasting large chunks of my time, as everything takes SO long to do. - Need to spend some more time with my GF - Very annoyed with CONSTANT CTD's - I hate loosing or nearly loosing stuff because the code is not up to scratch... - Lack of communication from developers. The frontpage news is hardly ever updated (as a quick example) - and this is a general reflection (in my opinion) on your commitment to your play-base - minimal information, when you feel like it..... - Major bugs that have been present since beta, of which NO attempts have been made to fix...come on CCP - if you can't fix them then let us know!
This is not an action which I have taken lightly. I've been with Eve since the later stages of Beta - I loved the old school space games like Elite, and I SO wanted Eve to live up to its promises....but its not.
If things improve over the coming months then I will be back...but in the meantime I'm spending money I could be spending on my GF rather than on a buggy game that is currently only giving me fleeting moments of enjoyment. I DO understand that MMOG's are rarely finished at launch, but a distinction needs to be made between final polishing and balancing and generally NOT completed - and I'm sorry to say, but Eve falls into the later category...
To my corp members - I'll be on to have a chat with you all this evening and to hand over my assets to you all - this is no reflection on our corp or the people - I could not ask for better corp mates If things improve then I will be back - so keep a slot open for me you hear!
I realise that this thread will probably be flamed to death.....but to be honest with you - go for it. I've tried to be as objective as possible, but I appreciate that there is just no way to please everyone all the time. ------------------------ "The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations." ------------------------ |

m8, only a complete fanboi could flame you for stating, plain and simple, the key issues that are causing many people to loose interest once they get to the 'cruiser stage'.
Its a genuine shame but I'm starting to feel the same way as you. Again, I couldn't ask for a better corp but I'm just finding the game itself is getting a little too stale to sink much more time into it. Im taking a break from it this week and, well, we'll see!

I fully agree with all the reasons that are named... i am totally frustrated with the complete lack of info from CCP... And the stability of the game at this moment isn't making it any better. I am considering whether i should end my subscription or not.. and i got a kewl corp too :\ Maybe we should all spam with stuck petitions about getting info....

I agree with you people - The complete information blackout between CCP and the game subscribers is very disturbing. At least I'd personally have a little more trust in CCP if they would post news regularly on what's being developed. Not just in the patch review forums, but general lines on what they're focusing on next. This CTD issue for example is one that needs urgent attention. Hardly anyone is willing to work for a month to get a battleship, pay $13 for the time used for that, and then loose all the work due to a technical problem with the server in 30 seconds.
I'm thinking whether it's worth continuing to play this game or not - If most of the major issues with crashing aren't solved soon, I'll take my money elsewhere. We all do have the power in this sense, vote with your money!

Whilst I am very happy with everyones responses - I just hope that CCP actually sit up and take notice of how their player-base is feeling.
Either that or they'll just 'snip' this thread like so many others..... ------------------------ "The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations." ------------------------ |

Sorry to hear you're leaving KQ. :-(
I hope to see you back in a month or two!
(BTW: Having a gf/bf is seriously bad for your power-gaming, I think you should consider the single-life!)

I completly follow you on those issues. Currently I am staying for at least 1 month more, but if I do not begin to see improvment, I to am afraid I'll decide to cancel my subscription and place EVE among all my other games that showed great potential, but failed to realise it. Yes, I am aware that EVE might realise its full potential a year from now, but I really don't have a desire to pay cash to play untill then. á

Thats a perfect list of everything thats wrong with it and especially the communication.
The only time you see a repsonse on the forums is a padlock on a thread thats too critical and the amount of info we recieve is absolutley ZERO
I aint seen Pann on here recently (So called Community Relations Manager) and its prolly no wonder - a complete state of sheer ignorance was adopted during his/her time and I guess now its become accepted. Not by me and not by anyone else I am guessing. But if CCP wanna survive as a company then they gotta realise who is most important.... it certainly aint anyone sat in a CCP or Polaris office ---------------------------------------------------

We need to keep this thread at the top of the list. Hopefully someone from CCP will comment on it.

It's funny, it seems to me if they just talked about CTD and said they were trying to fix it, CCP might actually save a lot of customers.

Me thinks that more and more issues with this game arise that suffer from a client-server mismatch/synchronisation failure.
Hopefully CCP can concentrate their efforts in solving these major issues asap.
To the original poster: Felt the same and was already thinking about a leave, too. The main reason to NOT quit the game for me still is the great corp I¦m in ***********************************************

Last time Pann 'informed' us was 15 days ago. Yes thats right 15 days since any sort of post was made in the 'Information Central' section.
