I am not your mother!
If you get blown up by an ASCN member in 0.0 space I don't care anymore. It is 0.0 space and that is what happens if your not an ally. If your trying to claim an escrow, I suggest you re-escrow it for a reasonable price. You will not be granted access to ASCN Space or stations for ANY reason.
I always try to be helpful to members of the EvE player base regardless of who they are. I cannot even count the number of players I have bought new ships for our given ISK to, in order to get them back on their feet. But I respond VERY poorly to threats from 8 and 10 man Corps because they lost a hauler and demand 50M ISK from me "or else".
I am writing this on the forum because in the last week I have received over 20 EvE mails, most demanding compensation. I am done wasting my time with such things. You enter 0.0 at your own risk, I am not responsible for your loss.
I think you will find this attitude pervasive among all those that live and operate in 0.0.
In Short. Unless you have a valid reason (like having a +5 standing with ASCN and still getting killed by our members) I will for now on delete and ignore all EvE Mail concerning ASCN members destroying the ships non allied forces in 0.0.
Respectfully -CYVOK-

If you can't handle your members then don't become a CEO. Stop whining here about a few mails you get from the community. If you want to be a CEO, act like it.
Don't get me wrong, I donĘt care that people get blown up in 0.0 space as well. But I also don't care that you get a few mails.

Edited by: Mecallie on 27/10/2005 08:32:14 I've not been playing that long, but if your corp members blow up everthing in site when they are in 0.0 it seems logical that you would get a few e-mails about that.
No one ever had an e-mail from me when I got blown up, even when 2 peeps from ASCN blew up my Stabber with their BS whilst I had only been playing for a month.
My point: just count all the ships your corp blew up, subtract the e-mails you get and see what's left. I think you'll find the whining people are just a small percentage :) You can't do anything about nagging players, exept blow them up again -- Blow me up Scotty! |

Oh you mean I have to bow down for a whiner who gets a few e-mails he doesn't want to receive. He's is telling what a good guy he is and help loads of people but he let's his members shoot anything. And again, it's 0.0 space so I don't care as well. If you don't want to receive such mails maybe you could also talk to the members not to shoot the poor things anymore or just delete the mails as he said he will. Crying here about is not much of a CEO thing to do IMHO. As if we are his mother?!

He's like, the leader of Eve largest corporation and one of Eve's largest alliances, maybe that's the part that you forgot.
Running a 30 man corp is one thing, running a 500 man corp and 1000+ alliance is another proposition. People like Cyvok tend to be busy enough without having to deal with nonsense.

the amusing part here is you lecturing him on how to be a CEO of a eve corporation he is not only the CEO of the largest corporation in eve and have successfully done so for a long time now. he is also leading their alliance and have been doing so for a long time now. and not only that he has been alot more helpful towards non alliance people then any other CEO/alliance leader has been in matters of ships getting blown up. if he now thinks "i dont have the time with all these tards sending me mail because i got the largest corporation in eve to run and a alliance also and i dont wanna sit and sort **** like this out" then he is fully within his rights to do so. i dont see why you would have to lecture him on how to be a CEO because you my friend are ****ing in the wrong garden with your lecturing.

Oh yeah, and everything he does is the best, never makes mistakes. He's actually EvE god, so how dare I to do this. Grow up, I'm long enough on the 'net to recognize arrogance.
I don't know him and he is probably a very good CEO, but let's be honest, what he shows now here in the forum is not really prove of that. But you probably think different right?

But Cyvok ol' chap. Didn't you know whining gets you stuff?
Whinge to the person that killed you that you're not KOS. Whine at their CEO that their corp are meanies. Nag the alliance executor to see if they'll *****. Moan at the rest of the world that it's not fair, and no one ever supports you. Whinge at the devs how your raven is not uber any more (hmm, wait, I digress ;p)
And don't take no for an answer. I mean, obviously it's a great injustice that you lost your mining badger outside a station in 'closed' space, and this injustice can only be righted by replacing clone, pod and giving a few isks on the side.
I mean, clearly it's _not their fault_. To imply it is their fault clearly means that they had been stupid, and that can't possibly be...
It's like that old adage really. Don't debate with morons. They drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience.

Thus far I only see people defending him with the argument of what his role is in EvE, but I don't see much argument on his actions.
But listen, I apologize to Cyvok and everybody who feels offended by my statements. But I just see somebody who thinks who has the right complain about a few mails he gets just because others do not like his actions or his members actions as well.
Any idea how many spam, scam, etc you receive a day if you posted your mail address on the 'net for about 10 years? You don't here me complain. I hate spam mails as well but I am aware of it that this is the risk when you publish your mail address. It's the same with becoming a CEO, you will probably receive loads of messages of action of your members who you rather do not want to receive. Handle it like a CEO, stop whining in the forum about it. It's not CEO like, but again, that's just my opinion.
And for the people who thinks I need to learn a lot. You are probably right, but I refuse to lay my head down to anything or anybody just based on appearance or passed behavior. He probably should receive more respect, but if you start a thread with "I'm not your mother!", what does that say about respect to the community then. Also "I don't care anymore" is not much of a way of showing respect.

Then why do you smack someone just based on appearance? This post did not concern you the slightest, and no one asked you to 'bow' to the 'superiority' of Cyvok. There was no such thing in his post, you completely made that up for the sake of trolling. It only took a bit of humor to get the 'I am not your mother' part.
Frankly, I find you way more arrogant than the OP.
I dont even know Cyvok, as I dont have much of a clue about lots of things, but so far I gathered that:
-Cyvok is the leader of the largest alliance in ASCN, who is respected for NOT SMACKTALKING their opponents in PvP. Dont you think it takes some leadership skill to prevent several hundreds of people from tossing insults at someone after losing a ship to them in battle?
-Alliances defend their 0.0 space, and I have yet to hear of one single that does not shoot anyone not considered a friend and ally if they enter their space. This has obvious security (spies, warp-in anchors), and economical reasons. If you had to fuel the ship building of hundreds of people, would you let any random nobody strip the asteroids of the space you've had to fight bloody battles for?
-Seeing as all alliances NEED to defend their conquered area, wouldnt you find it ridiculous that anyone complains about being shot there if they are not a friend?

I think its because XETIC constantly portrayed themselves as "the really, really, really good guys." It carried over to ASCN, and people don't seem to pay attention to the fact that ASCN are not whiny carebears like XETIC and are perfectly willing to carry out an NBSI policy. - Proud member of the [23].

Let me put it this way: I'm the leader of one of the more visible groups in the game and that damn mail icon almost never stops flashing. Don't even get me started on the random request to convo windows that pop up... Even so, I'd be willing to bet I don't get 30% of what Cyvok has to deal with on a daily basis. Even though Cyvok started this thread, there are several people in EVE who could probably copy and paste it into a brand new thread with their name on it instead.
The fact is that the guy plays the game at a different level than most people. There's a reason the Hobbitsses are so fanatical in their devotion to the man. He doesn't post often on these forums so when he does it's probably worth taking note of.
Except those times I disagree with him. You can ignore those posts!

Well, sad to say but them's the breaks of an NBSI policy everywhere in 0.0. I think you'll find most CEO's whose corps operate similarly get mail after mail after mail. Only if you're prepared to accept occasional losses do you not operate as NBSI in 0.0.
The MC generally did not operate NBSI in 0.0 until we came to the north where every man and his dog would open fire at you at the drop of a hat. In order to protect our pilots, we had to put that aside and operate as NBSI. Something about the North brings out the NBSI in you . . . and thats not just because NBSI are there. *grins*
Though tbh, I think nearly every entity operates like this now with the exception, possibly, of G, CVA and a couple others. They accept they will occasionally loose ships to inidents like that, but it doesn't happen again as the negative standings are set against the agressors.
Ah well. Diddna get annoyed, just copy any humorous mails and then delete.
