Hello,
I just try to find out what is now available on SiSi, and I see that the Undock button is at an another place, close to a new "Captain Quarters" button.
The problem is that this button should NOT be here when the "Load Station Environment" is unchecked. Indeed, I don't use the quarters as there is no point for it and so I unchecked this option a moment ago. Actually, the Sisi version don't care of it, so when I click on the Quarter button, I get that :
http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4114/20130528134802.png
Pretty... pretty, isn't it ? Not only I wasted few seconds of loading, but I get this... thing. All elements are in their correct locations thought, if I move the mouse I will get the 3D menu or not. I just don't have the graphics. Undock/redock don't correct that, I have to check the "Load Station Environment" to get everything right, or just click on "Enter ship hangar". But I don't want to. In fact, I don't even want this button ever.
IMO, this button should be removed when the "Load Station Environment" is unchecked.
And even when it is checked, his location is not good, as the risk to click on it by mistake while wanting to undock is important.
My last point concerns the Undock button. I can deal with his new location even if I prefer the old one, but the old way offers us a better idea of the remaining time before undocking, and so I know if I can still stop it. The new button has only a small change of colors and that is cleary insufficient... It would be better to see a "Abort Undock (3s)" "Abort Undock (2s)" and so on. |

I still do not understand how it's so easy to misclick on the big teal button instead of the big yellow button. It clearly must be, since people seem so worried about it.
Is it because so many people play EVE while drunk?
Anyway, the "Enter CQ" button should stay there. It should, however, show you that nice static picture of the door when you click it with "Station Environment" disabled. At least, that seems like the intuitive way for it to work. |

Imho the Capatin's quarters button should be move and made a lot smaller! Why advertise for such ****? And I also played a few hours on Sisi and misclicks happen and if it happens I have to wait 30s just to press it again to get rid of CQ and then undock... this sucks |

Seriously though. Those buttons are HUGE. Could this be a case of less is more? |

So making things suboptimal by design is a good idea? It may just be 30 seconds, but that is 30 seconds that doesn't have to be there. |

I still don't understand! How do people misclick when aiming for such a big button?!

Things happen. You obviously don't mean to click it, but oops, you did anyway, as the buttons are right next to each other.

I'm serious! Dock in a Prompt Delivery station. Enter CQ. Click once, do it fast. If you still don't get it.. the corp logo looks the same as the enter CQ button.. doh! |

I'll try it! I'll have to find one, though.
However, not everyone complaining about misclicks can all be docked in Prompt Delivery stations, can they? What about Hedion University stations or Native Freshfood stations or Intaki Police?

What I'm more interested in: has this change fixed the issue where the CQ button could randomly attain focus during docking and therefore you'd accidentally enter CQ when you hit enter while docking? |

I'm fine with both buttons and also with the default being swap-able.
The station services window needs some work because of the ridiculous amount of wasted space.
Something like this (small tweak) would work much better as an interim solution. |

Get the CQ button **** off of there, noone needs it with The Door closed.
And the 2nd, most important: undock button should be in the bottom.
[hate] And one more thing, seemingly not connected to this button things, but actually it is: please send the designers who came from WoW, PF etc back there, don't let them make serious spaceship game look like a rainbow-colored schoolgirlish game. And please specify by names who exactly draw beautiful ships like damnation, scorpion etc and who draw ugly pieces of crap like blackbird. We should know our heroes. I'm just sure they were made by different people (or the same but in very different mental conditions, if you dig what I mean). [/hate] OpenSUSE 12.2, wine 1.5 |

I like the Undock button in the new location because with certain window sizes in Window mode on a Mac that are otherwise perfect, a portion of the bottom is cut off that includes the Undock button. So overall this is a plus one for usability and UI flexibility. |

Since bringing this to our attention we're making a change so that the "Enter Captain's Quarters" button will be greyed out and non-functional if you have the Load Station Environment option deselected. When greyed out a tooltip states:
Quote:You cannot Enter Captain's Quarters when the "Load Station Environment" option is unchecked. To re-enable this option press Esc and in the Display & Graphics tab check the "Load Station Environment" option.
This change should be in the Odyssey release next week, I hope this allays your concerns. - EVE Online Quality Assurance - |

So if I want to be able to spin my ship around I have to mess with a huge button that I occasionally click on accidently that blocks me for 30s and does nothing of value?

Moving the undock button is dangerously close to the 'Jita Riots, Part Deux' line.
The undock button is something that *everyone* in Eve can agree on. Even the people who don't undock like the undock button where it is, because it's out of the way.
Now it's in the way. And its proximity to CQ just invites bad karma.
This will not end well, mark my words.

I think you may be right in that bad karma is being invited.
The current docked client (on a small laptop or using a small window) looks like this.
The wasted space is ridiculous and I can only see people having a negative reaction to this.
As I suggested above a minor tweak to separate the CQ/undocking buttons and preserve screen space for the user should be possible (?)
Although the current setup on SISI is fine on a huge monitor, it simply doesn't support a small(ish) screen or window size for the client.
Can we please have feedback on how you plan this to look when launched into TQ next week? |

I can only agree. Put back the button where it belongs to the left corner, I don't really see the point why to advertise the CQ - which 90% of the people anyway not using it. If you really want that then put that to the left corner as well, but as a distinctive separate button, far away from the undock button. |

You must have missed above where I said that I like the change. So there goes "everyone". It's not in the way it's in a more usable spot that makes more sense.
You'd have to be about 50 sheets to the wind to click it by accident. That excuse is just dumb. |

I don't understand why you felt the need to move the Undock button.
For those of us multiboxing and using smaller resolution clients, you are wasting space by adding those huge buttons. If you feel the need to market the CQ, be my guest, but please do it in a different way. Either move the undock button back to where it was or give me a shortcut to undock (I can't find one in the settings).
