Hi,
I bought plagioclase mining crystals. When I fitted them they were at 100% in the fitting screen, all 4 bars full.
But when I warped back to my usual asteroid belt, they were at 60%. (I mean I hadn't even used them yet)
What does it mean?
Thanks. |

Tech 1 mining crystals have a volume of 15M3, Strip miner IIs have a capacity of 25M3 to hold the tech 2 crystals that are also 25M3. So tech 1 crystals always show up not filling out the "ammo capacity" of your strip miner and tech 2 crystals will show "full capacity" until they burn out.
They shouldn't have shown up full on the fitting screen, either way it doesn't affect strip miner function. Maybe you've been mixing tech 1 and 2 crystals? |

No, I can't even use them yet, I'm currently training the skill.
Maybe it was simply a bug.
I was worried about the efficiency but since you said it has nothing to do with it, it's all good.
Thanks! |

Now they are because I've been using them. 0.05 and 0.03 respectively. |

I really don't like the mechanics of the way they did the crystals, with the progressive damage and all. It's totally different from anything else in the game.
It would have made better sense to have something like cap booster charges, that you can dump a stack of in the miner's magazine, and have it burn one per cycle. That way you could top it up, as we do with ammo, rather than having the damned thing just suddenly puke.
Just a thought... |

It would have made better sense to have something like cap booster charges, that you can dump a stack of in the miner's magazine, and have it burn one per cycle. You could glance at the number of charges left in the magazine, and know exactly how many cycles you had left. And you could top it up, as we do with ammo, rather than having the damned thing just suddenly puke.
Just a thought... I've never lost a crystal. They are quite predictable.
I remove them at 39 / 40 damage and reprocess them to get back all the Noxcium (on T2 crystals, the Hypersnaptic Fiber is not recoverable).
