Nope... it's not easy to use KB/M in my PS3 because it's in my living room (the PC is in the "office"), but I'll give it a try.
It might make the experience a bit better, but I'll always prefer PC for certain types of games (like FPS' or RPG's) and PS3 for other types (like sports games). |

KB/M with DUST is fantastic. I play my PS3 at a desk, just like I would play PC. The experience is fine, and the money spent on the PS3 to do so was money well spent. |

Clunky?
KB/M is *far* better than a pad. Movement and strafing.. aiming.. everything is better. The only area where the pad is better than a kb/m is in the extra buttons that allow for weapon changes ect, those funky buttons at the top-( or side depending on the pad) of the pad.
There are some really exeperianced padders out there that can match a kb/m user... but even the most mediocre kb/m user is on par with a good padder |

Same here- I moved my PS3 to my second monitor and plugged in my mouse and keyboard. I am a total clutz with the game pad. On a side note I really think we will see a PC client down the road. .:=[ObscuriLateris.com--áMining Corp]=:. .:=[ObscuriSoft.com- Soft Development]=:. |

have you played any pc games at comp level? in my time i've played 14v14 games and been privelaged to some hounourable and trully great people and i've been playing with some scumb bags too. people who stoop so low as to hack operating systems just to gain a slight advantage/**** people off. were the whole "clan" using probably not.
lets not get into the admins letting "my brothers dog lives at this addy to you have to let him play"
today i booted up tf2 and had quite a good time. i also noticed the people using quite simple scripts. they gain a slight advantage most of the time but as long as you know the situation you can use it against them. this is where consoles should have the advantage. everyone should be on a level playing field. |

It would also suffer from these awful things like a dedicated userbase, better player input with a mouse and keyboard. Not to mention API and all the insignifigant community building things it can add. I mean that stuff never got EVE anywhere amirite.
Then this dreadful thing about having a playerbase that wont go into automatic decline once the PS4 hits the storeshelves needs to be brought into light aswell.
Really Dust514 is the ultimate console game, and has no buisness being on a superior and more accessible platform. Especially when interlined with a PC mmo. ______

If Dust514 comes to the pc, I at least have the opportunity to try it out. If I like it, sure! If I don't like it, whatever. But I'm not going to buy a Playstation or any other console for that matter and therefore people like me won't have access to the game.
But maybe that's not CCP's goal. Maybe they just want to expand their target audience to people who are the opposite of me. People who only play on consoles. In that case, I will never play Dust514 and pure console gamers won't ever play EVE. Either way, I'm fine with it. I'm not looking for another game, but I still might try it out if it was available.
But if they do decide to bring it to the pc, I wonder how the keyboard/mouse vs controller wars will turn out! ;) |

My 2 cents on what could be done if dust got moved to pc. this is a short version, I have spent many a hour talking with other friends I game with and we all dream about a game that has a thriving universe that can give us multiple interfaces/experinces in the same unified universe.
We could have ship boarding. Imagine during fleet combat in eve if a new ship in eve could carry squads of dust players and the board a capital ship that is about to be destroyed (more or less with the fleet time lag that is imposed, if the ship would have naturally blown up) the dust players board and had have a to accomplish task to stabilize the ship and add a 1 use portable jumpdrive to jump the ship back to corp hanger for repair. All the while there is a destruction timer and any enemy dust players that work for the enemy corp that are trying to thwart our efforts. Ships of epic cost could now be salvaged, and to give a big boon to the dust players make the repair cost for the ship go into the pockets of the dust players.
PI in eve could now become very risky, Dust could be integrated to allow corps or crews to take over pi installations or destroy them. This opens up opportunities in eve to have new pos type structures to protect pi installations, and if that happens it would take a fleet and a dust crew to destroy a pi installations.
This is a bit grandiose as far as Ideas go, but ccp work to make dust 514 a full fledge mmofps. how about letting dust players hop on ships (npc and player run) transports to go to not just different planets but stations as well. I could even envision running all over the galaxy and chasing down a player with a bounty on their head, let the dust player wack em in their captains quarters. ( that could be expanded to need a crew)
Over all I love fps games and would love to see one that was in my favorite mmo universe. I play dust 514 on the ps3 and sorry to say is mediocre. Its my personal opinion that the fps glory days of the console are gonna aren't gonna happen for dust. Jump over the the pc where it could be properly appreciated.

Popping in here really quick.
Ship boarding: Players from EVE and Dust have imagined a concept that was later used by Devs during Fanfest 2013.
Imagine a Titan, not blowing up but going into Reinforced Mode. This causes the Titan to become a node for Dust 514. The mercenaries board from other player ships onto the Titan and queue for battle. The victory of that battle gain control of the Titan.
Not really on any official roadmap, but it has been imagined. :D
EVE capsuleers transport Dust mercenaries: Some of the Dev's have indicated this is what they want to move towards.
Planetary Interaction becomes more exciting/strategic/risky: 3D models were shown off at Fanfest of 3 types of Drones that are to be included in Dust (read: SOONtm) when they add PvE. From what I recall, these drones will attack PI installations which incur penalties (My thoughts: Reduced harvester yield, Increased production times on Factories, reduction on Storage Buildings, etc.). These can be ignored but would slowly infest the planet/PI system you have established. However, you would be able to hire Dust mercs to clear out the Drone infestation, my thought is through something similar to Contracts in EVE, except instead of Item Exchange, it would be Battle Requests. Mercs can then choose to accept these contracts, allowing them to queue for battle and fight for your PI nodes. Upon victory, not only do they get awarded the ISK you have contracted, but you would get bonuses to your PI colony (reverse what I said above from penalties).
While these are still brainstorms, thoughts and things like this keep me positive for Dust's potential. And before some of you post snide remarks about "hopes and dreams", just remember that the prototype for Dust was built on Carbon. Who knows what might happen in the coming months. |

Besides if you're playing DUST then your not playing EVE, or at least not well enough for it to matter.
Also, while the PC-Mater-Better might consider themselves better puny console games with their gamepads, there are infinitely more dedicated FPSers on console then PC, and that is due to the wider variety of games on PC. Just look at the legions that buy COD, Battlefield, or Halo everytime they come out. |

My corporation used to play a multitude of different FPS's as a "side game" when things got slow on EVE. We jumped around from Battlefield 2142, Team Fortress 2, Modern Warfare 2, Battlefield: BC2, DayZ, etc etc. When I segmented off with only a couple of my corp who owned PS3's to focus on Dust, we sort of broke our tradition.
I've heard most of the guys in my corp that hate on Dust state they would at least try if it it was on the PC, but since it isn't, they hope it fails. I had to even kick a member or two since I began recruiting Dust corporations because of the level of abuse they were throwing at my Dust guys. Want Dust514 district ownership to matter? Not only would I love to see Dust 514 come to PC, I would love to actually see CCP do something unprecedented.
What would make this absolutely amazing would be that instead of making a Dust 514 client for PC, they could incorporate a version in to EVE. I would like to see a "Planetary Drop Ship" that players can buy and fly launch their EVE characters down in to battles that are formed like on Dust 514. After battles, they can return to orbit. CCP could add in skills like they do now that pertain to combat and players can train them just as they do in EVE, as for equipment it is in the market we just need a way to buy it and equip it. While we may not be on the same level as the PS3 players, it could be a nice supplement to a game that we have to pay for every month. To me, that would make more sense than having to have separate characters to play separate games in the same server/universe.
It would also be neat to see a similar thing happen with EVE: Valkyrie. Offer a Skirmish Arena Battle Mode that allows players to take ships out and fly them from within the cockpit and fight it out dog-fighter style. I'm sure this isn't even a consideration at this point but it was an idea.
I feel if CCP consolidated its efforts toward the PC gamers and brought these other games in and melded them in with EVE online to make it a very diverse game it would bring in a flock of players never seen before. It would be the first MMO to offer various game play modes in a single server/universe. Corps could coordinate their attacks on ground and in space. If space combat becomes tedious players could turn to FPS combat. Using the same characters would even give them more depth and let the players really feel like they are playing a character instead of a almost feeling separated to the point that it is secondary to the ships we fly. It would give them new purpose. New meaning. |

Our beloved CCP lose from their sight one simple fact - Sony uses this "PS3 contract" to avoid DUST from entering PC market because Sony already has their Planetside launched. And i'm sure it's obvious not only for me about Planetside doesn't have a chance to be so amazing as DUST is.
Maybe CCP doesn't have enough resources to continue DUST development without some help from aside. But, free-to-play model with microtransaction part is already known and successfully in use by other developers to made their project stable on the market without any additional money.
Dear CCP, grant us the gift of PC-based DUST in the new year. Stars are cold, asteroids are silent and space is endless. We need something new to continue our journey. |

To bring Dust into a PC format would have more cons than pros. ( eve subs dropping due to capsuleers moving to dust) Dust gameplay becoming undesirable due to the amount of hacks and viruses available to cheat your way through the game. As is I am not a fan of Dust anyway, with the current intergration is has with Faction Warfare. Trying to flip a system and instead of Eve Capsuleers defending it, they all log Dust and defend it. SO for many that was 4 hours wasted with no real way to agress the defenders.
IMO Dust is a nuisance to a popular aspect of Eve gameplay.

Also, to generate FW contract in DUST somebody needs to plex first in EVE. No FW plex in EVE no FW contracts in DUST. DUST needs EVE for FW. And EVE receives big bonus from DUST participation in FW. It's not necessary but is very convenient. |

I'm so glade the "eve community" still wont stfu about this conundrum. Just proves the players\only customers CCP has is desperately crying out to the devs in an attempt to break down the possibilities of such a merger. As well as what accomplishments could be given through certain limitations by whom the players have already addressed. If FAILURE is what stands between innovation and evolution then CCP has already forgotten the steps they took to make the big leap towards that success. Such as having walking in station characters ect.. which has displayed the full potential and creative work of the DEVs and CCP team alike, thus allowing EVE ONLINE the chance to survive other mmorpgs once more.
Another words if Dust514 is already a FREE game for ps3 which tells me its obviously still in beta or alpha phase, then far be it for them to not test it on the PC sense its not generating any profit as of yet. :) |
