What was the reason for the PLEX not being available then? Seeing as I just buddied myself and couldn't chose the PLEX either (not that it mattered since I wanted to extend the invite account anyway).

If you use a PLEX to activate the second account, the first account won't be able to choose a PLEX as a reward. |

Yep, this is the case. It's good to be aware of the eligible payment methods too as some cannot be combined with the Buddy Program (like CD-keys). The terms and conditions can be found linked on the Buddy page and in each invitation:
https://secure.eveonline.com/Buddy/
Also, if you are inviting someone that you know or want to be in contact with, it is really recommended that you use the direct emailed invitation as this makes it far easier to track the progress of your Buddy. You will be able to see under 'Past Invites' when they create their trial and upgrade their account.
Using the link is fine, but you won't see any identifiable information about the person you invited since it is designed to be an anonymous passive invitation that you can throw up anywhere and hopefully benefit from at some point. If you have a buddy who used the link or if you used it yourself please be sure that a 21 day trial was created, you can see this under the transaction history.
If you have any specific questions or worries about an invitation or the Buddy Program in general you can send in a petition and we'll look into it for you Presenter: EVE TV, Game Master, tea enthusiast. |
