I would like to keep my +1 in this thread, because I also do not like new status of Ore sites. I think what null miners with infrastructure hub must have a choice, by new hub upgrade module or something like this, to hide back their ore sites from neutral eyes. I also think what previously it was possible, for extreme (or role play) miners to dig stones in low sec gravimetrics, but now low sec ore sites also visible and....
Every expansion for last two years was meet very warm by meet, but Odessey is first which I do not understand. Like one man said: hidden signatures was hidden, now nothing hidden left. Sad, CCP. |

It might not be the best for you but it is the best for the game. Actually, making it take less effort to get high end ores (grav sites spawn ores a few sec status lower than the system they spawn in) makes those high end ores LESS valuable. if it's easier, more people do it, and more product floods the market. |

Regular belts should become anomalies (this includes Ice). The rare-belts should go back to being signatures that have to be scanned. However, at the same time, it should be A LOT easier to figure out the types of signatures. i.e. drop a probe, widest settings, scan -> List of types. Then, if I want, I can narrow down the locations of the types I care about.
Also, regular belts should respawn randomly between 3 - 5 hours, rather than 4 on the dot. |

IMO thats coming. CCP have been going on about trying to remove DT permanently for ages but 1 problem is the roid respawns during DT.
The ice respawn timer is just the start of things by the looks of it. Get normal roid belts on a timer, get them to respawn in a different place like gravs = no need for DT for roid respawn.
So gravs not needed to be probed is the start. These are just smaller tests before wider reaching changes are made imo. |

When first revealed on Sisi i was against it and i still am, it goes against what eve is meant to be about.
If CCP had thought about it and been prepared to do a decent job of it, they could have had a brilliant solution.
We all know that they want to change the belt mechanics and introduce tessellation eventually, so they could have started by doing the same to static belts as they did to the Ice Belts, make them temporary and available to all on the new overview scanner, its like the current static belts in overview atm, just putting it in a different place (which seems to be OK for everything else).
This however would have required a large amount of work, new sites would have to be created, a new mechanic to spawn them and despawn after # days, setting new single yields (variable per spawn instance so no certainty) meaning no more asteroid regens over time as present. They would have to work out how many per system or constellation to use in the spawn mechanic (makes more sense than region wide), in fact a hell of a lot of work and some very well written scripting to implement the change (maybe that-¦s why they didn-¦t do it).
Eve is meant to be risk reward, but its also about the effort and game knowledge to get those rewards. The devaluation of risk/reward by having high value non system sec asteroids available for all to see is a farce, it does not encourage PvP, they are basically the same as any other belt, it only devalues miners returns who invested in the skills to find them and to those who import the minerals to high sec by exploiting these ores where they usually spawn.
CCP missed the boat big time on this one, maybe they will get the feedback and make static belts a thing of the past, may be they wanted to do it but lacked the capability to do it, or maybe it was a job too big and they ran away.
Anyway if we all remember that CCP are now chasing subs and not developing Eve as it was originally created, a niche game that required not only twitch keyboard and mouse skills, but depth of thought and critical thinking skills, it was small but it paid the bills, gave everyone a decent life, and it grew because it was a difficult game, which they now exploit as a selling point as they dumb it down.
Soon Eve will be wow in space, the ddos attacks recently probably come from the guys who python injection code they stole to make the probe formations, (yeah CCP said that-¦s where they got it from), gone are the days that Hilmar laments about, the unintended consequences of what they produced providing better game play than they imagined, its becoming cookie cutter and a clone of every other game out there now and will continue that way for the foreseeable future as its what brings in the cash.
They will not change what they have done, they will forget about it and chase the new shiney to attract attention of those easily parted from their money, looking at the past CCP never finishes what it starts as they don-¦t actually think hard enough about what they are doing, short-termism is the flavour they favour, just look at the Captians Quarters exit door, its stupid to think that every station could have a viable station environment, but they did it and wanted $ for pixels to dress barbie that no one else can see. I got probes from the Rookie-á tutorial, they are indestructible, unforgettable and will never need to be replaced, but maybe i will eventually upgrade them to Sisters that are also unforgettable, indestructible and will never need to be replaced. I used to relish in being able to find the very difficult sites with the high end ores. I would get enjoyment in hunting them down, and basking in my reward for being able to find them. Now that is gone. Along with the new exploration mini-games, which are trash, has made it so I don't even want to log in any longer. Exploration used to be fun, now it's just tedious. Looks like I will be skill training only until my ISK runs out. *removed inappropriate signature* - CCP Eterne |

Moving the ore sites to anomalies that are easily accessible was just pandering to the 2-way-PvP-averse types.
Apparently CCP agrees with them, and thinks that Eve should be summed up as: "push button, receive loot"
Because scanning was soooo hard, and training Astrometrics and related skills to level 1 was so incredibly long that people must have been leaving/quitting
Risk is, apparently, only for miners, industrialists, and anyone living in 0.4 or lower. Profit favors the prepared |

Does anyone else feel this way? I find it rather cheesy that your ship can just find them as soon as you jump right into a new system. It seems to punish the hard working miners who would go out of their way to probe down the secret spots. After all, that's what made them so appealing. You may as well just make them regular ol' asteroid belts now.
Gankers and pirates profit from this especially, just in time for Hulkageddon too!
We should have a mining holiday. Let's make the month of July be ice free. CCP can create a whole story around it- what happened to the ice... where did it go...? See Bio for isk doubling rules. -áIf you didn't read bio, chances are you helped fund those who did. |

There's still gas sites. I don't know anything about gas though, and on the rare occasion I have talked about k space gas mining the response was "don't bother". Maybe ccp could buff the gas. |

I believe only average sites come up as anomalies. I think you still have to scan down the good stuff. |

i don't mine often but i think this was the stupidest thing to find its way into eve this summer
ore sites are better than belts and easier to get to now... so what exactly is the point of belts now?
i liked how there used to be work involved, and when you scanned down a nice ore site you were rewarded with good stuff
now all the mouthbreathers just jump into local and immediately warp to them.
who the hell thought of this idea any ways? fetal alcohol syndrome much? |

Honestly, I'd like to see ore sites as both anomalies and signatures. I mean, we have cosmic anomalies for low-grade combat, but we also have the combat sites that need to be scanned down. Maybe the same should be for ore sites, too? |
