So... The Nighthawk I could fly on June 3rd will take me 51 days to climb back into.
What happened to If you could fly it before, you can fly it now?
or did that luxury just stop at BC's and Destroyers? |

So, to reiterate:
Before the patch, you needed Caldari Cruiser V, Command Ships I, and Heavy Assault Ships IV to fly a Nighthawk. After the patch, you need Caldari Battlecruiser V, and Command Ships I to fly a Nighthawk.
The old prerequisites meant that you had Caldari Cruiser III+ and Battlecruiser V trained (otherwise, you couldn't have trained Cruiser V or Command Ship I and thus couldn't have flown the ship to begin with). This translated into you having Caldari Battlecruiser V after the patch. Therefore, if you had the required skills before, you both the old and the new required skills after, and thus could fly it as well as ever. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Just to make it clear, the only skills that dictate whether or not you can board the ship are the leftmost skills in the pre-requesites tree. In the Nighthawk's case, these are Caldari Battlecruiser V and Command Ships I. As long as those two are lit up green, you can use the ship just fine even if you have red/yellow skills further into the tree. |

CCP Fozzie wrote:As mentioned above, no skills will be given in these cases, you simply will be able to use the ship as you could before. You'll notice that each skill category (primary, secondary, so on) has a skill at the top, and then requirements to train that skill below it. The only skills the ship cares about are the ones at the top of each category, it completely ignores everything else. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2599446#post2599446
