I would like to be able to have all my windows on one monitor and the game on another. Is this a function which is currently being considered? |

pretty sure allowing windows to separate from the client is a fairly significant change to how the UI currently operates.
one of those things that while it is nice, there is probably some reason why it hasn't been done already. and would certainly be easier to do from scratch rather than try to modify what they have to allow it. |

Another take on the problem (i'm assuming it being "too many windows in the way") would be to stream-line how you use windows today. Simplify the controls, merge similar windows, re-design various systems to be less Window-reliant.
Just some random thoughts of mine :) |

i'm sorry but the notion of efficiently managing my screen real estate is completely unacceptable. I demand the ability to have my windows wherever i please, regardless of the amount of work it might involve on your part.

So no love for the original OP who posted this first with more of an explanation and ideas CCP Fear? I linked the post up and everything right under the OP's suggestion.

I for one would be happy if I could tell my windows apart (Better window borders please, slight highlight on the active window!) and maybe get something similar to the horizontal taskbar. I'm really not a fan of the sude icons, I've been playing EVE for 3 years and most of them still look mostly the same to me, especially on my high resolution monitor (with suitable zoom by dragging the toolbar out).
I want the ability to click on text labels and minimize / restore them to the window, and on that topic, would it really hurt to have some kind of bitmap background we could put in place of the station hanger when we're working with a lot of windows? Something much lighter, that fills the entire screen, to offer better contrast between the X thousand market, blueprint, industry and ship windows we have up, and the background.
I'd really like something similar to the aero-layout scrolling. That's really quite nice for looking through lots of windows.
As for dual monitors, I use my dual monitors for dual boxing. |

I have 3 monitors and 3 accounts and use them all at the same time. Maybe I should get 3 more? :) |

@OP: 1) run in fixed window mode 2) set your game's resolution to be wide enough to cover 2 monitors 3) adjust your offset 4) move your hud. Maxim 34: If you're leaving scorch-marks, you need a bigger gun. |
