Is there anything you can do to them?
I have found alot of interesting fieds with sometimes rather odd things in them but I have as of yet not found any use for any of them other than anchors for small npc pirates and flotesams.
It would be nice if you could interact with them somehow, maby mine the minerals out of spacedebris, well you naturaly would not get ore from them but rather space debris.
The space debris could then be refined at a station to separate out the usefull components.
Mainly you would get base minerals like tritanium and pyerite but just like mining asteroids there would be more profitable and less profitable space junk.
for example: an abandoned space station could be the source of almost an endless amount of tritanium, other things you might get from it could include electronic parts and garbage.
More profitable space junk might be the almost intact derelict of a spaceship, it could give higher grade minerals in addition to plutonium, super conducters and rocket fuel.
well you get the idea.
It would make the miners lives alot more interesting as they could go mine other stuff than dull rocks, they would get not only minerals ither allowing for corps to have to use traders to ship out more than just minerals.
Well its just an idea, hope someone reads it.

I think many have had the same thoughts. Salvage drones and their respective skill are in the games files, just not released on the server. Maybe they tie in somehow with the 'stuff that can't be interacted with'.
Or the stuff is just there to add variety to what in essence would be a very boring empty place. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Ya, i heard rumors that you can savage them with salvage drones when they come in.
But that maybe a ways off. _______________________________________________

ôWar is not the dreadful end to all things as mankind fears. Conflict brings balance to nature as it adapts, mutates, and transforms itself into something stronger than before. Mankind is the master of nature because we can choose those mutations on our own accord. We can accelerate the inevitable dominance of a species. Through war, we can make ourselves stronger at the time and place of our choosing. War is not hell, far from it. War is beautiful. War is divine.ö - Grand Admiral Mekioth Sarum, excerpt from a commencement speech to Paladin graduates of the Imperial Academy, 23215 AD |
