In .5 sec I had been jet can mining. I warped back and was back with my Hoarder in less than a minute probably. In this time some NPCs had arrived and I was almost immediately set upon as I cameout of warp (bookmarked location in the field rather than the normal warp in position). I immediately tried to warp out and found that although I was alligned, the ship just sat there with 3/4 warp showing on the bar and slowly got chewed up by the pirates - once the ship had aligned I just relaxed thinking that my troubles were over, obvioulsy that wasn't the case.
So I have a couple of questions about all this.
1) Whilst being shot repeatedly, is it more difficult for a ship to enter warp?
2)Are the NPCs likely to use warp scramblers (if my first question is not the answer)
3) I have before noticed that when I leave a belt and return immediately that the NPCs have respawned. I had an inkling that they did tend to respawn more readily when the field is empty, would I be right? It seems more than coincidence that a few times I have found NPCs respawn after warping out and returning quickly.
4) Has anyone got any type-d altered ss expanded cargo modules they would like to give me to replace 2 that I lost - oh and 3 hours worth of ore...And some flowers to give to my wife as an apology for my stamping/swearing and throwing of various articles of living room furniture? The Capacitor is empty. |

1. No, unless the weapon hits are knocking you off of alignment. 2. They can, but only the higher value rats (I can't remember if the boundary is 10k or not). It is possible you were bouncing off of an object. 3. No clue. 4. Mine in either an Osprey or Scythe. With moderate skills, both ships allow three mining lasers and weaponry to fend off rats. Have instas. As soon as you defeat rats, reset the can and go get the hoarder. With luck, you can beat the respawn back. Rinse and repeat.
Good luck!

I think it's a glitch. Some times it takes my ship a pretty long time to align for warp even though everything seems fine and you should be warping. I don't believe they were warp scrambling you at a belt.

Thanks for the views, I suppose that it might have been weapon hits knocking me off align, it almost looked like that might have been the case.
I will also next time make sure that I leave to get the indy directly after taking out a spawn, I hadn't thought about that.
I do use a Scythe (as of today)with 2 lasers and 3 weps - I'll give it a go with 2 launchers 2 light scout drones and 3 lasers and see how it fairs, I'm not sure it will survive in .5 - but I can test it out; I've lost 2 ships in 3 days, might as well go for 3 in 4 }:-)
To lose the indy (although insured) and the 2 expanders AND the hours of ore was a bit of a bummer, but it's great to learn a little more too. The Capacitor is empty. |

Make sure that there are no roids in the warp line close. If ship isnt perfect alligned it ll not warp.

If you used an insta to get to the can, chances are you got stuck on the can while turning around.

If your ship is stuck trying to warp, press ctrl+space to cancel warp, align and try warping again.

I've been doing some testing on this. NPCs have a chance to spawn when you warp to a belt. I have seen, on multiple attempts, NPC spawn in a belt after I entered warp to a belt.
Also NPC's by the gates in 0.0 have a chance to spawn when you decloak (after jumping into the system).
