The changes are always made because of how the ships perform against eachother, how they perform in their roles and how they perform against other ship classes. Rebalances are made to improve gameplay, not to justify the prices of ships. Oh god. |

Nyancat Audeles wrote:With the upcoming T3 "rebalance" (read: nerf), I am wondering why CCP did not make any distinctions between the Tengu, Proteus, and Legion. The Legion is obviously the most underpowered of the T3's for many tasks. Does CCP realize this?
Before going any further, please explain how strong Tengus are or how weak they can be, then lets try to figure out what needs to get a nerf.
-missiles and their mechanics the issue? -ship bonus for those missiles and compared to other weapon systems bonus/potential dps output? -what makes the Tengu that "flexible"? -fitting oversize modules? -benefits of links/implants/combat boosters on ships natural abilities with high end skills?
By the way how flexible or OP Tengus are? -I see Legions/Proteus/Lokis all over the place with Sentry Domy fleets, carrier fleets, Dread fleets, BS fleets, Hacs fleets, but I see no Tengus or a suicide one, so what does this mean all these Tengu comments?
New hacs were implemented a couple days ago, how soon it is to judge how OP are T3's vs those specialized ships yet?
The only way to properly rebalance T3's is either scrap them from database or there's not much you can do with, if training time spent and isk involved doesn't bring you for your buck they will simply not be used at all or as hangar queens. A bit like recent Marauders proposal, it's a fluke, first proposal sure but a fluke non the less and not worth a dime for 1 or a bazillion sp spent in, T3's will most probably take the same route. *removed inappropriate ASCII art signature* - CCP Eterne |

Somewhere in some edited dev post about some ship rebalance said dev was telling lower tiericide ships would get materials cost increased to match their new performances.

ok i'm fairly new to Eve but here it's my 2 cents.
I am talking from a PVE point of view about the Legion.
I think that the armor resists should be reworked, that either the capacitor or the consumption of it should be addressed.
now the reasons for it.
I know T2 and T3 have different resists than their T1 counterparts but while in other cases they are still good they gimp the Legion in PvE. The Tengu/Cerberus have nice resists that go with his Kinetic damage application same as the Proteus/Ishtar, the Vagabond and Loki get an EM resist but they can switch to EMP and do Sansha and Blood site and plexes. The Legion gets a resist to EX 80% and Kin 63% but it cannot apply damage to either one having lazers. So imo i think that switching the resist to EM 63% and Them 80% and the rest in whichever way CCP wants will go a long way, allowing the Legion to tank higher Blood or Sansha sites with less tank mods and the same or higher tank than the one live now.
Using lazers and reps is very high demanding on the cap and this is with a sub that gives you 10% cap reduction per level. the best fix would be putting the cap usage of lazers on pair with Hybrid weapons or a bit higher to keep them different. In this way the sub system could have a 5% RoF instead of the 10% cap reduction and the ship will be on pair on dps with other T3.

Oh the Loki is fine i just want the Legion to be able to do Sansha and Blood sites more or less the way Tengu does a Gurista. well a bit less than that but still to be viable at PvE against the races it is supposed to be good. And as i said if they really want to have different resists on T2 and T3 use something like EM 63/Therm 80/ Kin 35 / EX 50.
I think the Zealot would benefit too from the change maybe making it viable in doing Blood and Sansha missions and 3/10, 4/10 DED instead of everyone using the Ishtar |

CCP I have filled two jars filled of tears about buffing the T3 Legion. Now with the Rapid Heavy Missile Launchers, wouldn't it be a good idea to give the Legion's missile subsystem bonus to this RHML? I know Missiles is not the main weapon (or at least from a point of view), but since you haven't buffed it's laser damage, why not give it's missile subsystem bonus to RHML. This would stop all the crying or at least most of it. What did the Legion do to deserve this treatment? I need more jars for zee tears! |

i agree that t3 ships with similiar modules and slot layout should'nt be onpar with t2 ships... perhaps 10-15% less dps
in return you should leave the eHP on the ships as they are CCP Ytterbium As designers, we can tell Caldari have three main points going for them as a race and that is, missile, hybrids and ECM. To be an all-rounded Caldari pilot, one must realize all aspects have to be considered and learned! |

CCP Ytterbium wrote:Yes, YES, the only reason why we are nerfing them down is to generate a river of tears from our player base - we need it to add some flavor in our morning oatmeal No, no, actually that's not true. We have a "trolling" contest going on between CCP Fozzie, Rise, Tallest and myself to see who can create the biggest rage threadnought on the forums, while we keep scores on a whiteboard. Also, when we are going to nerf them, we'll just launch a 6-faced dice to see how many slots we are going to randomly remove. Except for the Legion, we'll use a 20-faced dice. Doesn't matter if we end up with negative slot number!
Ah..... haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
We knew you guys do that.
