Hi,
Can someone help me out, I'm trying to find the very rare ore in 0.0 but all I seem to find is Jaspet Herm etc which you can get in 0.4 to 0.1? Do I have to go into deeper 0.0 and scan every belt or is there a better way to find it? I'm in the Plaicd Region and have looked around 0.0 but still no luck
Any advice would be helpful
Thanks

There are some very good systems with nearby refining, that have high end ore (Bist, Crok, etc). The local alliance will shoot you on sight unless you are a member. (does not matter where, all the corps/alliances that hold such systems do the same....)

http://pvp.dk/evesys.php
check secutity system rating ont here anything
0.0 to -0.3 will have crap ore
-0.3 and above had dark ocher
-0.5 (maybe -4) and above crokite
-0.6 bistot
and -0.8 meroxcite stuff that gives morphite
my numbers maybe sligtly our for certain ore's I'm no miner but anything above -0.3 definatly contains good ore and it gets better the lower the security status.
This also applies to npc spawns it seems too.

Actually, from my experience I have found the following:
-0.6 to -0.8 contains Mercoxit, Spod, Crok, Dark Ochre -0.8 to-1.0 contains same as above + Bistot and/or Arkonor
Spod is a waste.
You can reduce the time locating this ore by picking a region then referring to one of the Eve sec status databases to check the actual sec status.
Good luck

Find a map showing the TRUE security status of the 0.0 regions. The ones nearer -1.0 will have better ore (and better chances of spawning Commander Rats etc. On the whole). I know some -0.6 have most of the ore types (accounting for regional variance e.g. missing omber or kernite), and -0.8 and -0.9 will have them as well.
Unfortunately I don't have the web adress to one of the many True Sec Maps out there. If you ask politely i'm sure someone will give you a link tho. ___________

In case the original poster didn't notice, as lot of the suggestions on places to go were jokes designed to send you to places that might have decent ore, but also have a LOT of people eager to kill you.
The real security data is useful as well, but your best method is to go out to 0.0 that has lower real security in a frigate and a roid scanner. You'll die some, but you'll be able to determine not only local ores and how big the roids are, but also just *how many* people in the local area are howling for your blood *in your normal timezone playtime*.
You might find surprises. I've seen total warzones be quiet enough to mine at particular times, especially if most of the locals are from a particular part of the world.
