Just a quick one to the devs...it's a idea that may or may not strike ppl as being good.
Can we have a method of "flagging" ppl who spam fake wares in the escrow deals?
I mean it's always the same ppl and they get away with it sometimes. Yes ppl should check before they buy but still how many fakes do you have to go through to find the item you want...pishes me off no end.
So what I was thinking is somethign like...
Person x sells item x with a fake description. He needs to be flagged by lets say 5 different ppl from diffrent corps or ppl not in a corp.
Up to you what you want to happen then...I'd like to make him fair game for anyone out there blast him to bits if you see him with out penalty....but at least flag his wares a diff colour in the escrow deals to warn ppl that he is a fake seller.
Or something like that
Cheers

Its a good idea in theory, but unfortunately most scammers use disposable alts to do their dirty deeds.
Now, if their alts where somehow linked to their main so that everyone could see who's who, then something like what you suggested may work.

And therefore destroy scamming. Which is a part of the game.

Scamming where there is no accountability should be destroyed. It should be considered an exploit imho.
I have no problem with scamming if it was possible to get some form of revenge on the the scammer. A 1 day old alt that scams and then gets deleted afterwards does not belong in this or any other game.

My only problem with escrow is the spam. There's far too many people putting up 50 BPCs at a time, or selling worthless items for 5 ISK, or spamming with obvious scams. Just please, let us block people, so we can see the real deals. - Proud member of the [23].

How about... 'flagging' only removes anything that person has on Escrow from your visible list? Kind of like a block for Escrow? Seeing as it is always the same bunch of people, you could just make them permanently invisible to you. Inappropriate signature graphic removed -Zhuge

Exactly what I've been looking for. I want to block everyone who puts up 50 BPCs on escrow, everyone selling scam COSMOS BPCs, and everyone selling tritanium as Ravens, so I can see the good deals - Proud member of the [23].

Why are there numerous trade skills, and what can amount to significant sales taxes, needed to use the in-game market when escrow costs nothing more than 850 isk to effectively do the same thing?
I think thats why there's so many scammers and spam on escrow. If escrow was subject to the same skills and sales taxes as the market then the alt scammers would soon drift away.

The devs did say they were going to do away with the current escrow mess, and create a whole new contract based system. Until then 0.0 isk escrows and silly people not checking listed items will keep me happy. Pwnage without firing a single shot.

Alt x is selling item x, y, z as non items. You have a % chance of the sell being traced back to your main via some method...the more you sell the more you risk!
Just theres so much trash in escrow and you really have to be careful of what you buy. Why should a "scammer" (lets face it thats what they are) get away with it for nothing?
Selling stuff via forums is moderated...why can't we police the escrows ourselves? If someone still wants to try it on then fair play to em...but at least you have a chance to extract revenge ;)

why not just make the item description what is in the escrow, not editable for the peopel escrowing, with bookmarks being done away with this should be able to be implimented and also get rid of the WTB ads on the top all the time.

And ruin the fact that escrow's best purpose is selling groups of items? No thanks. - Proud member of the [23].
