Is there a way to stop my station containers from locking every item I put in them? I'm not using them for Corporation storage, they're just for sorting in my personal hangar.
Is there a different container that doesn't have fancy locks but still has the immense amount of capacity?

Can we have an option on configure menu to tell it whether or not we want the items locked ?

If you go into configuration for the container, you can make it require a password input for unlocking items. In a corporate hangar, this would allow a corporation member to display items he has (or items available through purchase or whatever), without allowing the items to be taken by anyone without the password.

Also, password or not, member inside a corporation need the Role; Config Equipment to unlock the items. I find it helps as I can lock T2 or named items in a can with normal items and know only selected members can unlock them.
I would agree though, would be best to have them auto unlocked, rather than auto locked. - "We have big plans. Secret plans, but BIG!"

This has been an issue since SCs were introduced, and I STILL don't understand why it hasn't been changed from locking to not locking items pr. default.
I'm guessing that this annoys hundreds of users every single day of playing Eve (I know it does for me, at least)

Select all, right click, select unlock. Feature is there for corporate use and security. Primarily in space, good for a POS. |

It would also be nice if the logged who actually took stuff out of a can once its unlocked, as they don't log that, only who unlocks/locks...
Which isn't a lot of use if someone unlocks something and then anyone else can take it and you've no idea who as it doesn't log it...

Well, I've used it as dropboxes for minerals. Members can open the can, drop items in, whereby they're automatically locked. Minerals go in, but they don't come out until a director or an industry guy with the password has it.
It's just another layer of management for security of items in the cans. It's extremely handy, if you use it.
