I really hate to see my own ship from any direction, or is there a mode wich you have practically kockpit view? (like in Elite, Tie-fighter or Earth and beyond)
Thx, Zandbergen

No there's no First Person View in EvE
Actually there's, in my opinion, too much going on around your ship to use First Person. I tend to zoom out like 50km from ship alot of the times in order to get a good overview of the surroundings.

Your playing in first person, read the backstory.
Its annoying that this pops up every so often, considering that first person is useless.
You want a kockpit view? Get 1x cardboard box(large enough to sit in). Paint inside black. Coat with PVA glue(to waterproof it) sit inside the box and close the top. Get a friend to fill the box with Jelly(lime is the best approximation for goo).
et voils first person pod experience.

Fantastic instructions! I may try this over Thanksgiving weekend. It will be a good use of all the leftover Jell-O.

Wonderful. Make fun of a newbiequestion. Chase them away, don't take them seriously. Again, wonderful. ----- FreeHansje

You can move the camera drone quite a bit. If you want to see off the bow of your ship and look at what you are approaching, move the drone so you are looking at the bow of your ship. Then, hold the right mouse button, and move the mouse left or right. This will pan. You can pan 180 degrees. The camera drone is now infront of your ship, facing away from it.

Remember, even if you fly a small frigate, it's still a huge ship and not some small fighter like an X-Wing.. ___________________

True.
Try ejecting sometime.
Zoom right in on your pod then get as close as possible to your ship.
Judge that your pod is anywhere from 6~12 feet tall.
Have fun seeing just how huge your noobship is.

Someone worked out that a Rifter is about the size of a 747. There's also a huge comparison chart floating around somewhere, but Firefox decided to 'misplace' ALL my bookmarks --------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone should read the EVE Tracking Guide. |

Cool, but is there a version which shows the names of the ships too?
