Want free stuff? Heres what we are doing this Thursday night...!
Eve Underground radio presents - Aural Pleasure with MickeyFinn!
** Free stuff to new pilots! **
We will be giving away frigates, cruisers, modules and iskies to lucky listeners - all you have to be is between 1 and 2 weeks old and be in Chaven (Domain) on Thursday evening and be listening to myself from 21.00 hours to be in with a chance of getting some ;)
** Kamikaze Dave **
Dave is BACK! Due to the success of last Thursdays "Kamikaze" Dave, listen in Thurday night from 21.00 and take part yourself! How long will he last this time? Will he reach his destination? Can you catch him before he drops the can? If you do, you have the chance to win free stuff, last weeks lucky winner bagged himself a BPO worth 3million ISK! We payed a visit to Pheonix alliance last week and laughed at KIA along the way (Dave is a week old character and flys a Velator and managed to slowboat through their 14 man gate-camp and lived!) Listen in from 21.00 hours on Thursday, I will go thru the format again so you know what you have to do but be prepared to make a few jumps! This week will be visiting an alliance in the SOUTH.
COMING UP IN THE FOLLOWING WEEKS:
** Think you know EVE? **
Tune into my show on the 1st December and pit your wits against other pilots. Answer ten questions about eve and the one with the highest score wins a faction cruiser. Simple as that!
** Win a helping hand... **
How do you fancy having a carebear help your mining operation for two hours? This guy has maxed out mining skills and will put his stripminers to work for your corp for 2 hours, all you need to do to qualify is be in a small/medium sized empire industrial corp (1-50 members) and listen to me on Thursday 8 December!
** Christmas Kamikaze Dave! **
Hows this for a Christmas present? We have teamed up with The Alt Factory to bring you the ultimate prize - a free character! He will be ready to transfer and be a self-sufficient miner, you dont even have to pay extra subs if you dont want to! To find out how it can be yours tune into my show tomorrow night and listen for our Kamikaze Dave feature Laughing
Tune in to here all about this lot and to get your weekly fix of quality music and oldskool tunes from MickeyFinn - only on Eve Underground Radio...

Wow! Mickey Finn. That takes me back a few years...early Nineties, drum n' bass. Yeah. Still have a tape somewhere - hardcore, MC, Mickey Finn the DJ.

Heh! No, I wish i was mate....
My name is taken from him and so is my taste in music. Every thursday night from 22.30 i do a "flashback" set on EUR which is a replay of a live oldskool set. Very cool.

Yes indeed. The man is a legend as far as i am concerned - this show is really my attempt at keeping the movement going - in my own small way i guess Yes, they are Eve time.
And "bah" to babyblue

93-94 were good years tbh -----------------------------------------------

95 i would say almost "sellout" tbh.
It went in two directions after the pre-justice bill came out, some went into happy hardcore (which sucks) and some went drum and bass (MickeyFinn for instance) and there were a couple who cashed in on the scene and went commercial (Fabio, grooverider and carl cox to name a few).
The real quality was between 90 and 94 in my opinion - proper mixing-pot of house, jungle, d&b and techno. Fantastic times pretty much gone forever thanks to the government of the day. Flashback was trying hard for a while by keeping with people like Ratpack but that died a death a couple of years back. Some still do it but its so far underground now that you need deep core miner II's to find it.
Still, my show keeps it going for the small section of the eve community I entertain - wish more would listen, they would hear where the ****e that is in the charts these days was truly born. With the dance godfathers of Fantazia, Obesession and Dreamscape.
Ho-hum, anyway....

Hehe, sold! I'll have to listen to your show now. Yes, I remember Dreamscape pretty well...mostly remember sound systems set up in the woods or in a field somewhere. Aye, damn CJB killed it all. :( Still, there were plenty of clubs that had good nights...it's a shame it gradually got more poncey and commercial as time went by.

DJ SS
Man is that guy still going!! Another legend. His mixes were always pretty uplifting - i remember him dropping Some Justice into a set at Fantazia and the place erupting. Nice. :)
